So far, the White House hasn't come to a final legal determination on Trump's authority to fire his Fed chairman, whom he nominated a year ago. The law states the President can fire a Fed governor for cause, but it hasn't been tested on the firing of a chairman. Top West Wing economic advisers have warned Trump that firing Powell would only exacerbate the problem the President is ostensibly trying to solve: nose-diving markets. The GCC with the help of the US and the west have been waging a successful campaign in multiple theaters vs Hezbollah. That's not ending with the troops leaving. We do not need an occupation force in a country we haven't declared war on, nor have we set any strategic goals. Working with our regional allies and relying on smaller scale special operations has proven wildly more successful than anything else we have attempted in the past 17 years. The media would laud him for taking the chance, and ignore the failure as they did the rest of his foreign policy blunders.
