Black Republican Father-Daughter Duo to Cast Michigan Electoral Votes

http://fortune.com/2016/12/17/black-republican-michigan-electors/

A black Republican father-daughter duo will make history when they cast their electoral votes for Donald Trump on Monday.

Kelly Mitchell and her father, Henry Hatter, are members of Michigan’s Electoral College. They are among the few African-American Republican electors in the nation, and a rare father-daughter duo.

Despite being barraged with emails, letters, postcards and phone calls urging them to change their electoral vote to Hillary Clinton, Mitchell and Hatter will vote for Trump, who won the state of Michigan.

Mitchell dismisses critics who suggest she’s betraying her race by supporting Trump. “I don’t really worry about what other people who say to me about race or how I should vote,” Mitchell told the Associated Press. “It’s been what’s right for and worked for me. I make no apologies.”

That is quite a revealing picture.

I'm genuinely not sure how anyone can look at that red and not come to the conclusion that the DNC got its ass kicked beyond belief.

Of course, these are the same people who think Barry had eight years of no scandals, Benghazi was caused by a Youtube video and the reason Clinton lost is because American doesn't want a female president.

Hold on, Clinton lost because of Fox News. Or was it the Russians? The FBI? Obama?

Damn, so many reasons she lost, because we all know it can't be because she was a crap candidate.

PEACEFUL TRANSITION: Pennsylvania Electors Getting Police Protection For Monday’s Vote.

One elector, Ash Khare, said he and each of the 19 others have been assigned a plainclothes state police trooper for protection.

“I’m a big boy,” said Khare, an India-born engineer and a longtime Republican from Warren County, who estimates he receives 3,000 to 5,000 emails, letters, and phone calls a day from as far away as France, Germany, and Australia. “But this is stupid. Nobody is standing up and telling these people, ‘Enough, knock it off.’ ”

It’s going to be a long four years — at least — of battling Democrats’ uncivil behavior.

OF COURSE THEY DO: Media Move To Delegitimize Trump’s Win.

Many in the national press have taken on the role of discrediting President-elect Trump’s victory, just days before the Electoral College is set to meet and officially make Trump the next president of the United States.

Because of mounting evidence that Russian hackers stole the emails of Democratic leaders and the FBI’s public condemnation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server, liberal New York Times columnist Paul Krugman said the election was “illegitimate.”

“So this was a tainted election,” he said in an op-ed this week. “It was not, as far as we can tell, stolen in the sense that votes were counted wrong, and the result won’t be overturned. But the result was nonetheless illegitimate in important ways; the victor was rejected by the public, and won the Electoral College only thanks to foreign intervention and grotesquely inappropriate, partisan behavior on the part of domestic law enforcement.”

Last weekend on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” liberal Slate writer Jamelle Bouie also said the hacking had cast a shadow on Trump’s win, rendering it a farce.

Well, if Paul Krugman and Jamelle Bouie think the election of a Republican was illegitimate. . . .

Not that it necessarily matters, but looking at maps that don't take population or electoral count into play can be a little deceiving, hence cartograms.

For example, this is a much more accurate view of the election:

but looking at all that blue and where it lies is important. Additionally the amount of firepower there is beyond ridiculous with the media ability to push and push and push...

The republicans will reign for a decade if the blues can't put themselves in check

The electoral system and the way many district lines are drawn already favor Republicans, I don't think it really matters what Democrats do, Republicans will continue to hold power for some time to come.

Yer map kinda looks like a Llama kicking a soccer ball.

Dems would have to win the popular vote by 9% to win control of the House

Just curious, when was the last election of a Republican to the WH that Krugman didn't claim was illegitimate?

checks and balances by the house and such should balance that out. However, they don't which is the point of the will of the people. Its not the democrat party.
