boyst Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Aaron Williams loss appears to be the most costly of the season. This game was basically handed to the undeserving Seattle from the Bills secondary. Dareus wouldn't have made much of a difference, the Bills front 7 have played tremendous this year. when your entire defense can't function because of a mediocre Safety converted from CB I suspect the problems are much bigger
bobobonators Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 (edited) Am I the only one who noticed the much maligned defense gave up a grand total of 3 points in the second half? I guess this week's Rex criticism won't include "he can't make halftime adjustments". I think time of possession played a huge factor in keeping the Hawks at bay. Yes the defense played better in the second half but but thats not saying much. They only made 2 stops the entire second half that resulted in zero points. Why? bc the Bills offense had two drives of 6+ minutes and one at 4+ minutes. Had the Bills offense stalled with multiple 3 and outs, the defense wouldve been toast in my opinion. sjjr Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 The secondary is the weak link on D. In this kind of defense the Bills are playing, shutdown corners and coverage safeties are needed and the Bills don't have that. Gilmore is the most disappointing player this season by far. During the bye week, maybe they should follow the offenses lead and redesign to the personnel strengths. Dareus, Hughes, K.Williams, Bryant, Z.Brown and Alexander are the best players and all are in the front 7. Maybe play more coverage and ask these guys to make plays and win matchups. After the bye week, who's going to cover AJ Green?
The Frankish Reich Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Nothing is wrong with the Bills defense. The offense can't stay on the field long enough, or they score too quickly, or they have too many long drives. The offense is why the defense sucks. Surely there's an offensive assistant Rex can fire! I say we start with the tight end coach because Clay's inability to move the chains is causing Gilmore to lose focus.
