I'm confused, what does the legality of something have to do with people choosing to drive under the influence?

If you don't see a correlation (not a perfect correlation, but certainly a positive one) between a states drug laws and their political leaning, then I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you need a statistics lesson? Have you gotten there in your high school studies yet?
