Hammered a Lot Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 ever been asked about this years presidential contest? I'm just wonder how the pollsters come up with their numbers.
Chef Jim Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 I have not and I know no one that has. It's all voodoo.
DC Tom Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 ever been asked about this years presidential contest? I'm just wonder how the pollsters come up with their numbers. I've been called by polling organizations before. Not recently, though...since I live in the People's Democratic Republic of Maryland, polls are pointless. Probably the same with Chef Jim - who needs to poll California? Just pick the Democrats on the ballot...except in places like Bezerkley, where you pick the die-hard socialists.
/dev/null Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 I have not and live in a swing state (VA). However I screen all my calls so it's possible I've just ignored them.

DC Tom Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 I just got a call for one. On my cell phone. Which has a VA number, even though I live in MD. Yeah, that's going to be an accurate poll.
unbillievable Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 One of my co-workers got called during our lunch break. He took the time to answer all the questions while I chanted "Left is right!" in the background. He's an ultra-liberal.

And they're important. As a hard working black woman of Latino descent now facing retirement @23 yrs old with 7 kids its a good thing I earned a post graduate degree after my armed services career then to the private sector where I earned $280k+ but rent my 2 bedroom apartment and plan to vote Trump... Being in swing states is fun Edited November 4, 2016 by Boyst62

bdutton Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 I had a call from someone asking if I support Carol Shea Porter (NH). I hung up on them.
jr1 Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 I hung up on a poilster in 2008 because I wanted to watch Bones
mead107 Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Never been called. Live in Saratoga county. Heavy republican
/dev/null Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 And that's why polls are bogus these days. What percentage of the population answers their phones these days? I suspect that I'm like most people in that I communicate primarily thru text and only answer my personal phones when I recognize the number. And some folks even got trolled into thinking they can vote via text: https://www.wired.com/2016/11/ignore-trolls-definitely-cannot-vote-via-text/
frostbitmic Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 I've been called many times before but not this year. Maybe they aren't interested in us independent voters this year.
Wacka Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 I.ve been getting texts the last few days to remind me to vote for the dems in Vermont. I'm a Republican and I live in Cheektowaga.

DC Tom Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Whenever anybody asks me if it is true that you can vote by text I tell them that sure you can, but just make sure you back it up with a vote on the ninth. "Of course you can. It's just like American Idol." It's sad to think about how many people would believe that.
Nanker Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 "Polls Have you, or any one you know?" I have a Polish cleaning lady. I know a few others too.
