dpberr Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 The OP would make for one sympathetic manager or boss. IMO, any person who gets suspended twice and then shows up for work out of shape and then promptly gets injured not only deserves criticism. It'd be no different if you were a forklift driver - suspended twice for drinking - and then on your first day back after your company has given you two chances, show up tired and back into a rack of product and cause $1,000 worth of damage. I haven't wavered from my position that the Bills should try to trade him in the off-season because I see a person who will never *get* it. Let that grenade go off in someone else's yard.
Jkgobills Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 (edited) It's perfectly normal for those of us who would have lost our jobs, lost our professional licenses, and/ or lost our businesses if we behaved like MD, to be frustrated and angry at watching someone who has All-Pro talent hurt himself and the Bills Team with his life choices off the field. It's hard to watch enormous potential go unfulfilled, and watch it unfold in front of our eyes. Edited November 4, 2016 by Jkgobills

H2o Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 I don't hate Dareus, nor do I want him run out of Buffalo, but I do believe this could end up the case if he does not get his act together. I honestly believe that his depression is playing a part in all of this. He has experienced a lot of loss and different tragedies over the last couple of years. Some people don't recover from things mentally the way others do. People on the outside want to talk about the money he makes, but money can't buy you peace, happiness, or love. Money can't buy you motivation. Marcell just seems like a guy who's having trouble with what life is throwing at him right now imo. I know that I don't know him personally, am not around him on a daily basis, have never had a conversation with him, or anything like that. But I have listened to him speak in interviews outside of football, watched everything unfold in the preseason with him saying he was going to rehab, and then not going into a facility by opting for another form of treatment. It reminded me of a couple of friends I had when I was younger. They both went through some things in life and it changed who they were. One of them ended up getting himself together and is doing really well. The other one's life spiraled out of control and is in a assisted living facility at the age of 38, having been for at least 2 years now. I hope Marcell gets past his inner struggles and comes back better than ever at some point.
bobobonators Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 What in the world is going on in this thread?
Gugny Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 What in the world is going on in this thread? We're discussing Puff Puff Pass Dareus.
bobobonators Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 We're discussing Puff Puff Pass Dareus. Hahaha. That was good.
BuffaloFan68 Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Hey I love Dareus as much as anyone but you can just glance at him and see that he is out of shape so you can't get upset when people are down on him. I just hope that, 1) he keeps playing & 2) his level of play keeps improving. GO BILLS!!!!!
HuSeYiN_NYC Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Girlmore has 1 or 2 nice pass breakups...then a boneheaded 60 yd TD allowed where he throws his hands up. This has happened 2 or 3 times this year. Would like to see him jam the WR at the LOS rather than giving them an 8 yd cushion. He's playing safe which (IMO) equates to waiting for a 6 pt play. Dareus and Sammy are smoking bowl after bowl trying to manage their pain. Meanwhile, guys like Russ Wilson are dealing with high ankle sprains and meniscus injuries and still working their tails off each Sunday. Oh wait...Sammy relies in his feet to run routes...last time I checked Russ Wilson (a running QB) does as well. We live in a time (and especially in a small market) where our sports figures are larger than life. As such, they are coddled and excused more so than in a larger market where they are told to hit the bricks (see Jamie Collins...and he's healthy). Good luck Girlmore, Dareus and Hammy. Oh, by the way, if anyone wants to buy some Watkins overpriced, commercialized, teamware...visit his website. He's marketing his crap like he is Jerry Rice after one mediocre season as a WR. Smh The reason why he gives the receivers a cushion is because the refs know that he will be holding as soon as he's at arms length of the receiver. It's just the way he plays. He holds. Nothing more to it. On the plus side, at least we have ONE good corner in Darby. I think Darby can go toe to toe with the best of em. Sad to say but, we need to give Gilmore Safety help on every down. I dont trust him as of late on one on one matchups and i have no reason to. About Dareus. Im not a fan of his personality in interviews in the past month honestly. I don't sense any regret or humbleness but, i can look past something as petty as a (personality) as long as he plays solid football when he's on the field. I know for sure when he plays, he's needed. So i can't hate on that. He's a great player. Nothing else to say except that i wish he was playing. Very different situations with Gilmore and Dareus. One has ZERO personality AND sucks lately and the other is a guy full of personality (but not the right kind as of late) and is a great player who you want on the field.
BuffaloBaumer Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Dareus, Gilmore and Sammy is a trio that has done absolutely nothing to contribute this year and that in itself is a real shame. No playoffs again will be a direct result of those 3 ghosts.

OhDozeBills Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 I don't think fans hate Dareus. I think most of us like Dareus but are pissed off at him. Fans hate Gilmore though. The difference? When Dareus is on the field, he's giving 100%. Gilmore is acting like a bitchass mid-play. Yeah but Dareus hasn't been on the field by his own doing and is a more talented player. Gilmore has at least been out there and has had some good games.
Big Hurt Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Bills players are soft. It reflects in players' body language.
Dopey Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 I'll respond to you in PPP, if you have the gumption. Good! Over 11k posts from each of you and this is the kinda crap we get! F ing babies.
Blokestradamus Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 I'm pretty much fed up with fan reaction to everything by now. Some really treat it like football is a life and death matter. Marcell is a grown man, he can do whatever he likes. I'd prefer him to make better choices in life but I don't hate him. Hell, I don't even dislike him for it. I fear I'm becoming increasingly rare in that I just want to see guys like him pick a smarter path for their own wellbeing. Nothing to do with availability for a football game. Very few things that I could hate a player for. Not going to knock a guy for being unfit to work at times, I've done likewise.
Mr. WEO Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 He's one of our best players and it's not even a huge pattern of being a problem (like Sammy for injury reasons). He got suspended. It is stupid and there is no excuse. It's over. It's not a pattern? It's over? Go back and re-read my post. Of course it's a pattern. After the suspension was announced, he game nearly the same exact speech as when he was busted in 2014. So did the Bills. On what planet do the inhabitants not see that this is a pattern?
TANK2 Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 (edited) He's rich and he's black. What did you expect from a fan base that loves Frank Reich and Brian Moorman? He smokes pot. So what. Half the people on this board are ****-faced two hours before kickoff. Sammy gets the same treatment. They are two of the top 5 guys on the team. Much of it is just misguided frustration and jealousy. Yes Marcell has smoked away hundreds of thousands of dollars. But in relative terms, most on here have pissed away just as much at the Niagara Falls casino or on crap beer. We are all jealous not to have been born with their talent. And to see them seemingly waste it is very frustrating. But again how many of us wasted opportunities in our twenties??? Our advantage is for most of us, our prime earning years are after the age of 35 hopefully when the mistakes are less common. Wheres the Cordy Glenn hate if its about wealth and skin color? Oh thats right, hes playing really well and hes almost always on the field. Aaron Williams? Your right. I hate that hes a great football player and by all accounts a great guy off the field. I hate that he loves the game so much he tried to come back this time while clearly risking his long term health. I hate him because hes black and rich. Hated Andre Reed who is probably the toughest WR I ever saw play. Fearless over the middle. Rarely missed a game. Why do I hate Andre? Black and rich. I hated thurman. Best all purpose back Ive ever seen. Tough as nails. Rarely missed time. Always gave his best. But I hated him cause hes black and rich. Jerry Rice. Probably hated him the most. Was it because he was the greatest receiver ever? Was it because his off season workouts were the stuff of legend? Was it because he always played big in big games? Nope. You guessed it. Black and rich. Gotta go now. Need to find more black rich athletes to add to the list. Ali perhaps? Hank Aaron? Does Wayne Gretzky have any african amercan relatives by blood or marriage? If so ill hate him to. Edited November 4, 2016 by TANK2
