An old scouting report

Sergio Brown

School: Notre Dame

Position: S

Bio: Part-time starter the past two seasons who collected 50 tackles and broke up two passes as a senior after junior numbers of 28 tackles with six pass defenses.

Positive: Physical run-defending safety best up the field. Works to get off blocks, has a burst of speed, and fast to the ball-carrier. Looks the part on the field.

Negative: Primarily used at the line scrimmage and displays marginal ball skills. Shows a lot of hesitation in his game.

Surprised they didn't go with Ihedigbo. Former Jets guy probably knows the system well enough. I'm not going to pretend I know much about Sergio Brown but it sounds like he's a good athlete and physical specimen who is going to look good at a tryout but sounds like he hasn't been much of a player on the field and doesn't know the plays like Ihedigbo would. Not expecting much. Waiting for Ed Reed to say F THIS these guys are terrible and just suit up himself
