26CornerBlitz Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 @SBNationNFL Former NFL head coach Marty Schottenheimer has Alzheimer’s disease https://t.co/LKuSLqG7Wm
Nanker Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Aw crap! Sorry for you and your family Schotty. Always thought you should have returned to The Bills as their Head Coach at some time. Be well.
The Big Cat Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Just awful. My mom's sister in Buffalo is pretty far along and way too young. Just awful.
GRHater69 Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Darn shame, good almost great coach that could never quite get over the top. Also a former Bill from their AFL days. Here's hoping it isn't to much of a struggle for him and his family.
CowgirlsFan Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 GEEZ... prayers to him,his family and friends.
Gugny Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Terribly sad. Definitely one of the NFL's good guys.
PatsFanNH Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 That's just awful. prayers with his family and the research teams that they fine a cure in time for him and everyone else suffering from this awful disease.
jr1 Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 !@#$. Love his innovation and creativity
KD in CA Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Wow, that sucks. Always liked him and no coach ever had worse luck in the playoffs.
fansince88 Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Lost my Grandma to that disease. Tough to watch.
BADOLBILZ Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Always thought you should have returned to The Bills as their Head Coach at some time. Ralph had a major issue with Marty. God Ralph was an awful football man. Marty was great at turning around moribund franchises........Browns, Chiefs, Chargers......even did a great job in that one year with the Redskins before Snyder stupidly fired him so he could get Spurrier.
Mike in Horseheads Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Marty was the coach that was always going to be HC but never was. I've lived it in my family, prayers for his family.
GunnerBill Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 One of the best coaches never to win a Superbowl. You faced a Martyball team you knew you were in for a fight. I have two grandparents (separate sides of the family) with the condition. It rips the soul from a person. It is a cruel, cruel disease. I will always remember the Football Life episode where he described resigning from the Chiefs as the worst decision he ever made through clear pain and tears. Good luck Marty.
