Isn't Trailer Trash and Rednecks pretty much the same thing?

It's all about location.

One is urban, the other is rural.

Trailer trash is actually more of a subgroup of redneck, as listed below:

1) Redneck

a) farmer/rancher

b) cowboy

c) good ol' boy

d) trailer trash

e) meth cook

f) Jimmy Carter

You need to define the difference between hillbilly and redneck.

Sorry - I've yet to encounter any Texas hillbillies. I'm not even sure there are any.

I've recently moved from Oklahoma to Kentucky.

The hillbilly is definitely related to the redneck in some ways, but is a different creature entirely in others.

It's quite remarkable.

Rednecks are rural agriculturalists. Hillbillies are mountain folk.

Basically, a hillbilly is an unemployed, upland redneck.

Sort of a redneck with a bad altitude?

I've always thought of a hillbilly as someone that lives in the woods, at least two hours from a Walmart, and is married to their sister cousin.
