RobRyanFan Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Okay, here's my stupid idea. I think the Bills should get Percy Harvin out of retirement and re-sign him. I'm not sure what it would take to get him out of retirement, but I would be fine with a 1.5-2 mil $ 1 year deal. He could solve our WR problem for the moment, then when Woods comes back we could continue to use him as a deep threat next to Goodwin. He's better than what we have now.
mrags Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Is he even in shape? Maybe we should sign Jerry Rice and Steve Leargant too
Dirtbag Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 i say we cull calvin johnson out of retirement. i'd be fine with a $3.5-4 million dollar deal. when woods comes back we'll use him on special teams.
Mr. WEO Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Jerry Rice stills looks good in those celebrity flag football games recently...
Best Player Available Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 I thought Harvin retired partly because of concerns of long term health issues? If so I doubt a couple of mil would excite him. He made bank durng his NFL ride.
BringBackFergy Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Is he even in shape? Maybe we should sign Jerry Rice and Steve Leargant too Frank Lewis is drawing Social Security but, hell...call him.
Fadingpain Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Andre Reed seems to have kept himself in great shape since his retirement. Ditto Bruce Smith while we are at it.
NoSaint Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I thought Harvin retired partly because of concerns of long term health issues? If so I doubt a couple of mil would excite him. He made bank durng his NFL ride. If generally in shape, a month of work might be something he would dig. It's pretty unlikely but better than some of the ideas we hear
John from Riverside Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 We do only need someone until Sammy is back Not the craziest idea
ScrewyLouie Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I think Jerry Rice would be a better option. He's bigger than Harvin and he's more durable.
Steve Billieve Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Didn't seem like he wanted to play when he was actually in the league . . .
Webster Guy Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Health problems. Migraines, concussions, he's all done. Still remember that game last year when the Jets could not cover the guy, he was embarassing their D.
Best Player Available Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Randy Moss? TO is 41 now. And claims to be in football shape. He looks it anyways and never filed retirement papers with the league........
oddoublee Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I don't think it is a crazy idea at all - all the jokes about Rice, Moss, TO, Reed, etc... are misguided and don't fit the narrative. Percy is still young and has legit NFL talent. With that said - I believe he retired because he wanted a big pay day - and if he didn't get one - the health risk was not worth it to him.
JM57 Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) i say we cull calvin johnson out of retirement. i'd be fine with a $3.5-4 million dollar deal. when woods comes back we'll use him on special teams. I think they would have to trade for Johnson because he's still under contract with the Lions. Edited October 24, 2016 by JM57
Go Bills!!! Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Harvin isn't as stupid an idea as Andre Reed would be! He just 'played' last year. Yes, I put 'played' in quotations!
