Kirby Jackson Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 With all due respect Kirby, I think you are a little too high on Tyrod. If anything Alex Smith is the rich man's Tyrod. Tyrod is probably 20th. His best skill is not turning the ball over. I feel like a lot of starting Qbs would thrive in our situation. Dak Prescott hasn't had Dez and is a much better passer as a rookie. The Miami game would be a good time to see if Tyrod is actually able to be a franchise type qb. I don't know if a lot of guys would. He is executing what they want very well. The chains are moving, converting in the red zone, taking care of the football and scoring a lot of points. They aren't asking for (or really want) giant passing numbers. They want him to make the plays that they need him to make (mostly mentioned above). With his arm (and legs) he has done that really well. I'm not sure why we think that others could execute it that well? He runs better and takes care of it better than just about everyone in the league. The threat of his legs add a dimension to this offense. The Bills are 4th in the league in PPG and 1st in point differential. It isn't despite him. He does what he is asked very well.
NoSaint Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Im not sure how Brees is excluded on any list? He is 4th in yards but 1st in YPG (347) because he has already had his bye. He's 3rd in TDs (1st in TDs per game), 6th in rating. He is on pace for 5,552 yards (which would break the NFL record) and 45 TDs (6th all-time). He already has 5 of the top 10 yardage seasons in NFL history and is 3rd all-time in yards and TDs (ahead of Brady in both). I know that I always bang the drum for him because I think that he is the most under appreciated and underrated player of this generation. He's on pace for one of the greatest seasons that a QB has ever had and some people don't have him in their top 5 or 6 this year. Look at his last 16- it would be a helluva season. Somehow word got out that he's over the hill and people don't realize that he's in the middle of an absolutely all time stretch statistically. He's just hampered by a team with 25% of its cap in dead money
Hapless Bills Fan Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Ya but he doesn't look right every time I watch him play. His stats are ok but he doesn't seem be Rogers like. (Maybe have a higher expectations for the man everyone says is the best QB in football) For the most part, Rodgers and his WR just don't seem to be on the same page this year so far. His throws are consistently going to where they were 1-2 seconds ago or where they will be in a second. In the game I just watched, they really weren't getting separation.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Is it me or does QB play seem to be down this year? My top QBs that pass the eye test this year: 1. Matt Ryan 2. Big Ben 3. Sam Bradford 4. ?? I am hard pressed think of 5 QB who have started since week 1 that make you go "oh wow they are amazing, most are ok to God awful." I have not seen Wentz play so please fill it out who do you think are the top WBs and am I wrong thinking QB play seems to be down? We know you meant Brady #1 4. Wentz 5. Brees 6. Carr
GunnerBill Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 The two Matts - Ryan and Stafford have both played well, Brees has been very good having to throw all over the yard and Derek Carr likewise. Wentz and Dak have played well without being asked to do too much (good coaching and efficient Quarterbacking) and Tom Brady still looks nowhere near that wall sadly..... But I agree with the overall point. It has not been vintage QBing so far.
