dubs Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) For diehards! @thadbrown7 #Bills not dead for playoffs. Win last 4, almost certainly 2nd in division. If #Broncos lose v NE (Wk15) & v OAK (Wk 17) Bills are 2nd WC. It can happen. I wouldn't bet a dollar on it, but if the Bills can win out they have a pretty decent chance to get in. The Bronco's last 4 games are brutal. With nothing at QB, they can lose two and probably will be an underdog in at least two of their last four games, maybe 3. @Tennessee New England @KC Oakland Edited December 9, 2016 by dubs
26CornerBlitz Posted December 9, 2016 Author Posted December 9, 2016 @thadbrown7 #Chiefs win last night locks out one Wild Card spot from #Bills. Buffalo can't beat OAK or KC.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 9, 2016 Author Posted December 9, 2016 @thadbrown7 Still thinking playoffs for #Bills? It's good to have dreams. Here's how Buffalo makes it reality. https://t.co/qPtofMzQSZ

John in Jax Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 OK, I'm guessing NOW we can close/lock this thread, or are we still "mathematically" in it? LOL Sadly, this team will be lucky if they win another game this year. Yes, I know they play the Browns.
DC Greg Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 You guys still crunching the numbers in here?
JimBob2232 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 We are still mathematically in it...but its a long shot now...even if we win out.
The Frankish Reich Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 We are still mathematically in it...but its a long shot now...even if we win out. Unless there's something wrong with the updating, 538 shows our playoff chances UP to 16% (it was 10%) after today's early games. Mostly a consequence of the Broncs dropping below 50'percent.
MDH Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) You guys still crunching the numbers in here? Done. Bills win out. Dolphins lose to Cardinals today (even if Dolphins win it doesn't effect the Bills too much) Patriots beat Ravens tomorrow. Eagles (or Bengals) beat Ravens Chiefs beat Titans Patriots beat Broncos Raiders beat Colts Steelers beat Ravens Patriots beat Dolphins Texans beat Titans Raiders beat Broncos So simple!! The Frankish Reich Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Never mind. 538 just updated. Our real chances are .... 3%. Not mathematically eliminated, but the closest thing to it ....
/dev/null Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Never mind. 538 just updated. Our real chances are .... 3%. Not mathematically eliminated, but the closest thing to it .... FiveThirtyEight are the same people that gave Hiliary Clinton a 70% chance of winning the Election
The Frankish Reich Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 FiveThirtyEight are the same people that gave Hiliary Clinton a 70% chance of winning the ElectionWhich gave Trump a 30 percent chance is my math is right. Which was a much higher chance than all the other models.
papazoid Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 turn out the lights..... .....the party's over.
Arkady Renko Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Done. Bills win out. Dolphins lose to Cardinals today (even if Dolphins win it doesn't effect the Bills too much) Patriots beat Ravens tomorrow. Eagles (or Bengals) beat Ravens Chiefs beat Titans Patriots beat Broncos Raiders beat Colts Steelers beat Ravens Patriots beat Dolphins Texans beat Titans Raiders beat Broncos So simple!! I think the Dolphins have to lose out and finish 8-8. They have the common opponents tiebreaker according to ESPN. So if they beat the Jets on Saturday we are officially done?
The Frankish Reich Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I'm not sure how it worked out this way, but ... somehow our playoff chances dropped to 2% with the Ravens' loss (per 538)
MDH Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 (edited) I'm not sure how it worked out this way, but ... somehow our playoff chances dropped to 2% with the Ravens' loss (per 538) If that actually happened that's a good reason to stop using their website for playoff percentages. The Bills absolutely needed the Pats to win last night to increase their minuscule playoff hopes to ever so slightly above minuscule. Edited December 13, 2016 by MDH
