Big Turk Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 (edited) I think its time for Fox Play by Play man Dick Stockton to retire. He made some pretty egregious announcement errors today in the Bills game...among them: 1) Called 49ers coach Chip Kelly Jim Kelly.2) Called Bills backup QB EJ Manuel Eli Manuel3) Said the Bills had the biggest lead of the game with a 12 point margin when they were up 22.4) Said the Bills lost 5 yards on a play when they actually gained a yard but started at 1st and 15 instead of 1st and 10 because of a 12 men in the huddle penalty to start the 3rd quarter. And he had about 6 or 7 other terrible spot calls throughout the game... I realize they have spotters who tell them the down and distance after the play, and that guy deserves to be fired too because he is terrible as well, but Stockton screwed up plenty all on his own, lmao... He needs to ride off into the sunset... Edited October 16, 2016 by matter2003
26CornerBlitz Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Totally agree. He and Diehl were absolutely horrid.
r00tabaga Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Peluga too. Too bad because my favorite NBA guy of the 80s-90s was DS. Great voice and tempo.... Getting old tho
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Totally agree. He and Diehl were absolutely horrid. Diehl could have been worse, if that is possible.
stony Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Fox needs to gracefully push him out the door. Consistently poor throughout the game. Diehl brings next to nothing either. Diehl could have been worse, if that is possible. Sadly, yes.

Big Turk Posted October 16, 2016 Author Posted October 16, 2016 Diehl could have been worse, if that is possible. He said Kaepernick was very effective when he was 10 of 22 for 150 yards and a TD, lol...he ended up 13 of 29
KD in CA Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Peluga too. Too bad because my favorite NBA guy of the 80s-90s was DS. Great voice and tempo.... Getting old tho To me that's more important. I can live with the spotting errors, not guys who don't have the delivery.
VirginiaMike Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 It's a shame because when he was younger Stockton was a good announcer, but it's time to retire. Voice is still good, but eyes and paying attention have left him. Diehl -- not so good, but I've heard worse.
PO16FFS Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I do like his voice. But man, I wonder if they even care. and saying how great Kaepernick was today.
Estelle Getty Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I think the call of "and the give is to.....no one" when taylor ran a qb keeper was perhaps the best of all time.
chris heff Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 He said Justin Hunter was a fifth round pick out of Florida Atlantic.
PO16FFS Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I think the call of "and the give is to.....no one" when taylor ran a qb keeper was perhaps the best of all time. If I remember correctly it was Gillie that ran that play.
GunnerBill Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I thought Diehl was okay... a bit repetative if I am being hyper critical but generally okay.
gomper Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 You people are crazy. I know he's getting older and is past his prime, but if you can't enjoy his timing, rythum, and meter, maybe Spero will do the Miami game for you.

Its hard to enjoy those when he is constantly wrong about what he is saying

Kap didn't have a good game. He had a long TD on broken coverage.

mabden Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 IDK, Dick Stockton had a great comment when there was some def/off line movement and the flags came out, "There is some pointing going on."
