r00tabaga Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Damn, I literally just bumped an old thread! Ninja'd.

Freddie's Dead Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Wow. Mike Tomlin is the last guy I would have expected to pick up this POS. KW better straighten up and fly right, or he's gonna have a short stay in the 'burgh.
YoloinOhio Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) His oldest brother Vince plays for LB Steelers. Just got an extension actually. Probably think he might be a good influence having him there to keep him in line, as he hadn't had any issues I'm aware of. But yeah, Steelers are the all-weed team now Edited October 12, 2016 by YoloinOhio
Bubba Gump Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Him and Le'Veon Bell should get along just swell.

Looks like Vince is an upstanding citizen, at least no wants or warrants, 1 Adam 12.
Hapless Bills Fan Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Getting paid what he is worth! Snap, I had that thought.

Freddie's Dead Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) Dr. Foreman from House will whip him into shape Never thought of that but you nailed it! Tomlin has a little more hair. Edited October 12, 2016 by Freddie's Dead
Kirby Jackson Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 You can still sign him at any point if I understand this correctly.
Freddie's Dead Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 You can still sign him at any point if I understand this correctly. True, but we have to put him on the 53.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 12, 2016 Author Posted October 12, 2016 You can still sign him at any point if I understand this correctly. If another team comes calling, he can choose to stay or their Practice Squad or the Steelers can sign him to their active roster.
Freddie's Dead Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 If another team comes calling, he can choose to stay or their Practice Squad or the Steelers can sign him to their active roster. Did not know that. Are there stats on how many PS guys pass on a chance to play elsewhere to stay on the taxi squad?
Hapless Bills Fan Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 You can still sign him at any point if I understand this correctly. The Steelers can match any offer he gets and he can decide which offer to to take.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 12, 2016 Author Posted October 12, 2016 Did not know that. Are there stats on how many PS guys pass on a chance to play elsewhere to stay on the taxi squad? Doesn't happen very often. IIRC, Matt Simms chose to stay on another teams' Practice Squad (ATL?) last season instead of coming to the Bills' 53.
Hapless Bills Fan Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Did not know that. Are there stats on how many PS guys pass on a chance to play elsewhere to stay on the taxi squad? Very few. Big difference in $$ and benefits. Happens occasionally with a skill player like a QB where he feels he's being developed where he is, but would just be a temporary fill-in on the 53-man for a different team. Occasionally happens for a team that's a big winner (Seahawks couple years ago) vs. a bad team.
YoloinOhio Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) Did not know that. Are there stats on how many PS guys pass on a chance to play elsewhere to stay on the taxi squad?Alex Tanney passed up a chance to sign with Browns a couple weeks ago and stayed on PS elsewhere. Probably just didn't want to die, can't blame him. Edited October 12, 2016 by YoloinOhio
