Cugalabanza
This is the best time of year for horror movies. There are a million to choose from and 95% are garbage. Here are some obscure ones that I like If you like horror mixed with humor, check out Tucker and Dale vs Evil. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1465522/?ref_=nv_sr_1 Repulsion. The most psychologically tense movie I've ever seen. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059646/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_25 Burnt Offerings. This is a sentimental pick for me. Its the first movie that scared the crap out of me when I was little. Bette Davis and Karen Black are scary no matter what theyre doing. And the image of the weird chauffer guy haunts me to this day. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074258/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 And Then There Were None. This 1945 version of the Agatha Christie novel is the best. Really fun. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037515/?ref_=nv_sr_2 What are some of your favorites? BringBackFergy
Great topic Cuga - I did a thesis project on Hitchcock, so "Psycho" is just an amazing film from a director's standpoint, cinematography and plot. Edge of your seat (did you know the blood in the shower was really chocolate sauce?) Honorable mention: Exorcist The Shining

They keep teasing with a sequel, but nothing has materialized yet. We just watched "Saw" last night. That's a good one. "Exorcist" is great. "The Shining" is one of my all-time favorites. The 2006 version of "Hills Have Eyes" is great, too.
Johnny Hammersticks
The Exorcist 3, without a doubt, is the scariest movie I have ever seen.
Cugalabanza
The Exorcist 3, without a doubt, is the scariest movie I have ever seen. It's nowhere near as good as the original, but it is a pretty good movie. It has one of the best quick scare shots of all time (in the hospital--I'm guessing you know the one I'm talking about). Chef Jim
I watched the Exorcist last night. It still delivers. So well done. Want to be scared shitless? Turn off all the lights and listen to this through headphones. I bet you don't make it all the way through. Halloween is my favorite time of year! LewPort71
I remember reading The Exorcist when I was a freshman in college and wondering if it had been made into a movie. Next year lo and behold it was a movie. Absolute classic.

USMCBillsFan
Some of my favorites. Salem's Lot Exorcist Halloween Friday the 13th Parts 1 and 2 The Shining It's funny, these movies scared the crap out of me when I was younger and watched them. But now as an adult? I have a hard time getting into the genre. I LOVE horror, but nothing is really scary anymore.
Cugalabanza
Rosemary's Baby is one of my all time favorites, but I can only watch it once every few years. A few other good ones from this century: The Descent, The Babadook, Drag Me to Hell, The Cabin in the Woods, House of the Devil

I don't know what it is--I know they're bad, but I still like 'em. That cheesy teen slasher formula just does it for me.
