Exactly. He was the luckiest player we've ever had too. Ballhawk? Hardly! He was more a centerfielder than a safety.

But it was uncanny there for a while! Like winning the Lotto, then again, then.....

Whatever you think about Byrd...his business sense is incredible. He managed to take his luck of developing plantar fasciitis and use it to take a good part of a season and turn it into a crapload of money.

Just read the whole thread to see if anyone mentions the last year with the bills where he hardly played because of his plantar issue. sure enough, the last post mentions it.

I dont care about him. Enjoy the money!

I'll take luck any day, the guy seemed to be in the right place at the right time, his 3 consecutive games with 2 ints was an amazing stretch. If New Orleans says goodbye to him and he signs with Buffalo, I wouldn't be upset. Bring in Gus Bradley and draft Jamal Adams, all of a sudden our defense improves a lot.

He had 9 picks his first year. About 6 of them were over throws and tips. Good plays none the less but I remember several times he went for the TO and missed ending up with a big play.

Right move to let him walk

Didn't he have 3 or 4 in one game vs the Jets.?

I guess the Bills made a good decision here, as well as Fitz, and several others. The front office hasn't bundled everything.

Right, because our safety play this year was awe inspiring. We definitely could not have used Byrd.
