If you know my MO is fact checking dubious posts, then I don't know why you are bothering to respond either.

This is Spiller's "Insanely impressive" 2012 season:

34% of his rushing yards came on 10 carries (of 205 total).

21% of his carries resulted in negative, 0 or 1 yard gains.

21% of his carries netted 2-3 yards.

in 6 games, he had fewer than 10 carries.

In 5 games, he had fewer than 40 yards rushing.

So, a gimmick back who busts out a big gain once every 20 carries reminded you of the greatest Bills RB ever? As others have pointed out, he wasn't ever as good as Travis Henry.

But your Spiller love is just really ever defending a bad draft pick by the Bills (your MO). Remember this?:

"As sad as it is, it will take him going to another team and watching him becoming a beast from some to get how talented he is."

This is exact.

Shame. I was hoping the Jets were going to put the whole 2011 Bills offense back together.

They are debating 4-12 or 6-10

Spiller had a chance to be a special back for about three years. After that, his legs weren't the same and he didn't have the quickness and burst he did early on. There was only one year when things went pretty well for him, then he got hurt, then he got cut, and the pinball machine started.

He is a good guy, a good teammate, an honorable person. No hate for him here. It wasn't his fault a team that didn't need a RB picked him in the first round. He came in, did his best, and then moved on when it was clear the Bills didn't want him anymore.

Those Clemson guys scare me.

I am really starting to feel bad for the guy........

This is why I am wrong about players and their transition to the NFL more often then I would like

Spiller looked like fricken Barry Sanders in college......he gets to the pros and things fall apart

now I feel the same way about Jonathan Williams....and dont understand why he isnt getting more burn

Rbs get treated like porn stars, used and abused. I'll freely admit to being wrong about him on NO. I wonder if the Jets bring him in. The good thing for him is he should be healthy and ready to go.

Spiller was James Davis' backup at Clemson for 3 years. Couldn't beat him out. 95% of the game is 100% mental. That was your sign, Bills.

Starter or not, I seem to recall CJ single handedly beating the Canes two years in a row.

Yeah, there's some narrative now that Spiller wasn't an absolute beast his senior year. Dude was a flat out game changer. He ever had a year and half in the NFL when he was one of the most explosive players in the league.

But hindsight and all that.

Foresight and all that, more like. Or did you forget the much-maligned posters who saw the flaws in his game early?

Yeah, there were a ton of posts crushing his play at the end of 2011 and the 2012 season.

Whatever. He's gone and you guys won!

We all won. Except the posters who hope that players who leave the Bills are HoFers for their new teams, despite all of the on-the-field evidence to the contrary.

Lots of those guys in college. Pro scouts need to see beyond the flash.

Yeah but Clemson has never been able to replicate that.

Oh, wait they routinely beat Miami don't they.

Clemson just started getting the Florida recruits that Miami couldn't keep at home with their lousy coaching/recruiting.......the 'Canes stumble was a huge shot in the arm to about a half dozen programs and Clemson was one huge beneficiary.

He ran for 1200 yards in his senior year of college! Wow that must be some kind of record.

It's not about hindsight, I followed the guy as a recruit and then couldn't wait to see him at Clemson.

Where he improved exactly ZERO percent in 4 years. Sound familiar? He used to tire himself out running while holding his breath at Clemson too. Sweet guy but not mentally capable of things most take for granted on the football field.
