It's a business.  He's a mercenary. Can you see him at the end of his contract saying: "Gee no thanks boys, I'm going to turn down that juicy raise because I do so love it here in Buffalo."

 

He's pissed because it was done to him before he could have done it to Buffalo.

It's the free-agency era...they're all mercenaries. Personally, I have a very hard time seeing any justification in getting emotionally entangled in the performance of ANY player who likely as not will be gone from your team within three years...

 

...presuming, of course, you're a fan of the team. :blush:
