The hang time is the factor though. Carp can kick it to the end zone but it's usually a line drive.

The only reason to have a kickoff specialist is to have a guy with a stronger leg. Touchback rule changes have made that obsolete. You can find anyone to kick it to the five yard line. Hang time specialist is not something I'm willing to lend credence to. If Carp has no hang time, replace with him with a place kicker who makes extra points and does.
