Agreed. Take my comment as perspective. Was it dumb? Absolutely. Can I see a young 20 something making a stupid choice based on emotion, yup. I also think he has a good enough group of people in his corner that'll help him think better in the future.

Given the volume of "c'mon man...." moments I'd be hardprsssed to say this will be that large a learning experience

You never know, but....

His receivers are really good. He just makes too many mistakes.

he did have a bunch of mistakes tonight but a lot of his throws are predetermined by the playcall and ends up throwing into bad coverage. But it is clear to see he has the talent to be a NFL QB and would be a good fit in our offense that needs a mobile QB and he can make ALL the throws. He would need to sit for a couple yrs to learn an NFL offense however.

He can make all of the throws and is athletic. He also turns the ball over way too often. He doesn't value the football. I have seen over 10 starts now and they all look the same. Really good, mixed with really bad. He's a 3rd round pick now and if his last name wasn't Kelly he'd be further down than that. Chad Kelly is a project as a QB. I know that it would make a nice story if he were some sort of franchise savior but he's not.

My feeling is that he's a 6th or 7th round pick and even a chance he goes undrafted. I think the main issue is that he is such a long term project that it's unlikely the drafting team would see him field ready before his contract was up.

Cardale was selected in the fifth basically because he hadn't proven he could blow games with dumb decisions yet.............Kelly has a similar talent level but he's proven to be capable of train wreck play.

I don't necessarily disagree (at all). When you watch a whole game I'm not sure how you come out of there going "we need this guy under center." It scares the hell out of me.

His receivers are really good. He just makes too many mistakes.

The LSU Defense was swarming last night and the receivers rarely got separation. It was impressive to see, I had never been to a game at LSU before. They controlled both sides on the line. It felt and looked like Kelly was doing his best to make a play all by himself.

Yeah, he looks to be trending down dramatically.

But I stand by what I said earlier. If he has a good bowl game and senior bowl, that's what will matter with his draft stock. The offseason for QB draft stock is ridiculous.

But 3rd round or worse looks about right currently.

Plus, he has the BB curse on him now! And St. Joe's sucks!

I do think Kelly is a tough and athletic dude. He reps Buffalo hard and I totally respect that. But I hate dumb Qbs with a passion. Your qb should be the smartest guy on your team. He shouldn't be throwing temper tantrums on the sidelines; threatening to shoot up places with AKs; trying to fight high schoolers; & getting repeatedly dogged by pornwhores.

He will be a Bills UDFA. Think of him like a legacy pledge at a frat.

"Boon... you had a face like a pepperoni pizza. And what about stork here? Everyone thought Stork was brain damaged...."

If you get a chance to go to a game there you need to. It is incredible.

They have a good defense but it's like that every week in Kelly's world. He's a TERRIBLE decision maker. He has physical talent but is a mid round pick.

he could fit in our offense and plenty of guys were not viewed as saviours but only time will tell.

That said the running scheme foe Ole Miss is ridiculous, whenever they ran the ball it was basically the read option :wallbash: . I'm watching the game and thinking don't you have any other run plays, no wonder they are getting handled by better teams. Also with two starting lineman out and two freshmen in Chad was running for his life most of the night, which makes any QB look bad.

As much as people question his leadership I think he is a great leader on the field and is a gamer, which are intangibles that are hard to find.

yep, one man can't win it all which is why McCaffrey is struggling as well.
