DE Bills Fan Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 I say trade McCoy to the Vikings for as a high a draft pick as you can get for him. The Vikings have a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl, and McCoy will give them the back they need now that Adrian Peterson is out. This way, we rid ourselves of his high cap number and give playing time to Mike Gillisee and Williams. This is the time for the Bills to realize that we need to start fresh, and stockpiling as many draft picks as we can while also creating as much cap room as possible to bring in difference makers seems the best way to go. The season is lost, almost before it got started, and hanging on to hoping that we turn this around is only wishful thinking. I say get rid of the pieces that you can right now for decent value, then cut Tyrod Taylor after the season and try and bring is someone to run the offense, or draft the best potential QB with the extra draft picks that we can assemble. Otherwise, it's more of the same as we stay stuck in this 6-10, 7-9 level of mediocrity. This needs to be blown up this year and start fresh. I know that it's hard to face another rebuild, but thinking that Rex and Rob and Tyrod are going to turn this around is fools gold.....................
The Wiz Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Please change the thread title so others don't get false hope that this is fact instead of your idea.
Fadingpain Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 I'm with you 100% on this. Start selling.
fridge Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Decent idea. Horrible thread title. Seriously, I got really excited for a second there.
CommonCents Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Bad title! McCoy has no value with that contract and the mileage on his body. He is a Mercedes with 300,000 miles, who is going to trade their brand new Toyota in for that and increase their payments x10 in the process?
PatsFanNH Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 I don't think it will happen. They already don't have a first round draft pick (Trade for QB) so the best they probably offer would be a 3rd or 4th
May Day 10 Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 make another thread that says "Pegula to Sell Team to Rogers Family" and then give a hypothetical on Pegula selling the Bills in an alternate world plane \ would be a popular move
BuffaloBaumer Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Crap, I thought this actually happened
MAJBobby Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Bad title! McCoy has no value with that contract and the mileage on his body. He is a Mercedes with 300,000 miles, who is going to trade their brand new Toyota in for that and increase their payments x10 in the process? What Contract the one that would only pay him 4.8M this year and then has remaining non guaranteed money left? The contract that Bills will eat the accelerated dead cap of the signing bonus one traded. McCoy if traded 2016 - 4.8M fully guaranteed 2017 - 6.0M - NOT guaranteed 2018 - 6.075M - NOT guaranteed 2019 - 6.175M - NOT guaranteed then a 250K workout bonus each year.
maddenboy Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 If this happened (or something similar) it would be an admission by OBD that Rex is done. So they may as well fire him at the same time. Because by giving him an excuse ("oh, i wasnt working with a full deck, but thats . . . management's call") you are taking an unnecessary risk of headache later. Plus, Rex would probably put it on cruise control, because even He could see the writing on the wall.

They were 2.5 million under the cap before the Hillman signing today, bringing in Shady's money would require roster adjustments. A good team is not going to give up present and future assets to take on an aging back. Unless the Vikings have a Doug Whaley clone this trade wouldn't even be entertained.
John from Riverside Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 You should be straight banned for doing that....and you know you did it on purpose
