CommonCents Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 He is well regarded by many. He did a very good job in SF, and they nosedived after he left. He wore out his welcome in both places and you could debate how well he actually did...plenty of stuff out their from 9ers fans that supports much of what we have seen. His redzone offense was bad on a talented 9ers team as well. Do you think he gets another OC job? Maybe he does your opinion on him seems to be higher than mine and that's fine. Just curious.
BuffaloBillsForever Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 I really HOPE NOT that the Pegulas meddled here to force this decision. That would be a VERY BAD thing for the future of this sports franchise and would raise another big red flag about the Pegulas poor ownership record thus far with two sports organizations.
stevewin Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 At this point I honestly would be happy to fire the entire coaching staff and bring in the coaches from Lancaster High School
snafu Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Oh thank God -- Roman sucked. He didn't know how to use his players. For a run-first guy he couldn't come up with successful short-yardage plays. He was always late getting plays called. He didn't have a hurry-up offense installed. I'm usually calling for continuity, but there was no living with that guy any longer. He had to go before Rex because he couldn't possibly be Rex's successor.
Reed83HOF Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 This was Rex's hand picked OC; the DC stunk last year, so he hired his bro; Roman sucks he's gone... House is gonna get burned down this offseason....
BaaadThingsMan Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 So the D gets shredded and the OC gets fired? Ok
26CornerBlitz Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 @buffalobills Greg Roman has been relieved of his duties. Asst. HC/RB Coach Anthony Lynn is promoted to Offensive Coordinator.
dave mcbride Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Yea but Harbaugh left too. Hard to say who the success in SF was tied too. If you're a Bills fan you wanna believe it was Roman. I trust Harbaugh's instincts about coaches. Harbaugh is a great coach -- regardless of whether I like his personality or not. I decidedly do not trust Rex's instincts about coaches, although to be fair he did lure Roman here in the first place.
nucci Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Brilliant, 2 weeks in to the season and OC is fired....

Kirby Jackson Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) Give up 400 yards to Ryan Fitzpatrick, turn around and fire Roman. Sure, why not Edited September 16, 2016 by Kirby Jackson
BillsFan130 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 I think he effectively threw himself under the bus with the 4th down sequence. When you stand out as the biggest dummy in the pile.... That play call was ridiculous. One of the most obvious play calls I have ever seen
maddenboy Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) it matters not naught. fyp. and fully agree. Deck chairs, and such. Edited September 16, 2016 by maddenboy
Andrew Son Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 The play they wasted a timeout on, with EJ trying to draw them off sides, was unforgiveable
Prickly Pete Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) My Take On Roman Fired: "changing coordinators during the season will do nothing to help the development Tyrod Taylor or the offense as a whole. " Newsflash!!! The "development" of Tyrod is meaningless at this point. It's all over for him after this season. From this point on, the season is about cleaning up the mess.
