dorquemada Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Now I'm starting to wonder after Rex's presser, is he already done? Will he go down with the ship or will he try to maintain a shred of dignity by quitting at some point in the year? Dignity doesn't seem to be real high on his list of prized attributes, but it's pretty clear that he knows the gig is up, he's out of ideas and saddled with a sloppy undertalented team, the exact sort of thing that's lethal when combined with a coach like him.

NoSaint Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 quitting mid season isnt "maintaining a shred of dignity"
Chuck Wagon Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 I think we'll be 2-7 at the bye and have an interim coach coming out of it.
CodeMonkey Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Quit as in give up the multi millions of dollars he is guaranteed? Are you serious?
dorquemada Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 If you were on a 5 year 25 mil contract, would you resign? every time we hear about an executive resigning at our company, we always figure they got bought out. why wouldn't pegs give him a nice package to leave?

If Pegula bought out his contract at full value and fired him, that's the only way I see Rex gone.
jms62 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Knowing that this will be his last head coaching gig, there is no way he resigns and forfeits that paycheck.
NoSaint Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Too prideful. if you think any coach is resigning mid-season.... i dont know what to tell you. think of the reaction when marrone left at the best time possible for the team. to walk out in October would be unheard of, considered incredibly cowardly, and put the team in a bad spot. even a bad coach should keep working his program through the season and let the team make the move should they decide they have the pieces in place to feel comfortable doing it instead of forcing it upon them. every time we hear about an executive resigning at our company, we always figure they got bought out. why wouldn't pegs give him a nice package to leave? coach contracts are guaranteed. we are paying him the money whether or not hes here.

I don't think that, so I'm not sure why you're quoting me.
NoSaint Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 I don't think that, so I'm not sure why you're quoting me. in a thread where the OP is saying that the coach is already done based on his press conference and should resign, you replied that hes too prideful. so i covered that pride isnt the issue in the situation (at least in the terms that i read the OP)

My point is that he's not going to quit on the season just because fans have. Draw the correct inference next time.

He pretty much said it when he had his initial presser. This thing is about to be on. I honestly feel bad for the guy. He's Fred Flintstone and the NFL is using Jetsons cars.

Big Gun Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 If and when he goes he needs to take TT with him.
vincec Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) No, he's not going to quit. But he knows this is his last season in the NFL so I'm sure he's pretty depressed about it. Edited September 16, 2016 by vincec
Thunderstealer Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Dumping that time out in the second half instead of taking the five yard penalty ( and punting) was the worst

Why should he resign? He has a shopping basket full of excuses at the ready - suspensions, injuries, etc. This is his last gig and he knows it. He won't resign.
