Sammy knows what's up and it's clear from the All-22 film that he can't be stopped. Unfortunately, his QB doesn't seem to know that. Why he doesn't see 15 targets a game is beyond me. He's open all the time.

Keep in mind that Sammy has been kept under wraps all off season, and neither he nor Tyrod saw much preseason action together.

The problem is that old school mentality.

Defense is playing cover-2? Can't throw deep.

But when that WR is Sammy Watkins you gotta throw it anyway.

I agree. Antonio Brown wasn't open tonight. Just throw it to him because he's great.

Yup.....Great players MAKE plays. They don't wait for them to come. Throw him the ball!

Rex's dude. You nailed it

There is plenty which Rex has screwed up. That is clear to see if your eyes aren't bloodshot. I think though that if Roman is telling TT to not take chances by throwing to Sammy then it is on him. If TT has free reign and is holding back, then it is his issue. It only becomes Rex's issue IMO when it repeats as a pattern and he fails to address it. Within the confines of one game, I can't see blaming Rex.

So Sammy should get 15 targets out of 22 pass attempts?

I think over the course of a season an average of 15 targets a game is not going to happen...even on a team that throws a lot. That being said, there is no reason why they shouldn't be throwing in his direction 10-12 times a game.

That's just it... Sammy is open... his routes are rediculous

I understand that - my point is I don't care if he isn't - throw him the ball. Tyrod is capable of making the throws.

Remember the game where he got 9 targets in 11 pass attempts?

That went well

it did!

No one hit 13 targets a game, but a few cracked 12. Sammy was 7, so as a realistic number... an extra 3-4 target (2-3 underneath, 1 over the top) would go a long way.
