Bills star wide receiver Sammy Watkins is playing with severe discomfort in his surgically repaired foot, the Daily News has learned. X-rays taken after the Bills season-opening loss to the Ravens on Sunday did not reveal another break, according to a person familiar with the situation, but Watkins is far from out of the woods.

The best part is that the Sammy injury could well give Whaley/Rex/Roman the excuse they need to BS Terry and Kim into another year after going 3-13 or 5-11. Yay!

The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports Sammy Watkins (foot) "could be shut down for several weeks" because of "severe discomfort" in his surgically-repaired foot. X-rays taken after Sunday's game did not show a new break, but Mehta reports it remains possible he is shut down for the entire season. It is also possible he is able to manage the pain and continue playing. His status moving forward is completely up in the air, but at this point, it seems unlikely he plays a full 16 games.
