"Watching a game in another team's stadium is not a good experience."

You like it because the asshats at the Ralph agree with you is all.

Precisely.. I like to pound on the seats and scream and get my section fired up on 3rd down at home games. Can't really do that on the road in someone else's stadium.

On the other hand I do really enjoy going to road baseball games. Had a great experience in Chicago this summer at US Cellular field for O's / Sox game. You can actually have a civilized conversation at a baseball game.. and Chicago fans tend to be informed. But football is a whole different animal.. It brings out the Ape in most people

Baseball is much more mellow. More about being social than the game itself for most. And far far less alcohol consumed before the game, promoted as a family event so 8 hours of pregame power drinking isn't the norm. Plus football is a insanely violent game, even with the rule changes in recent years. Brings out the violence in the fans too, particularly the drunk ones.

With two safeties deep, going the way of Chans horizontal play designs instead of vertical, would've been a viable approach

Yes, but at some point a team has to take what they want. Roman allowed the Ravens to dictate what he did. That's a no no. With the way NFL Refs throw the flag on DB's for looking at WR too long, it's worth taking a shot or two or three. No excuses not to send Sammy deep. Does Roman need to watch the KC game from last year to remember Sammy still makes catches down field when double covered?

I've also said we should take shots deep - unlike Fitz and Stevie, tyrod and Sammy should be able to dictate downfield more. But in discussing ways to create space for McCoy and force the safeties to crash down some... Well, you stretch their 9 guys sideline to sideline and take advantage of seams created if they are going to put 2 way deep

The one time they ran go on a shallow cross, he picked up 8 yards.

Yep!

Roman will call the sweep 10 times to different backs(Bush doesn't have the speed or vision to run it). Roman will not call 5-10 yard pass plays that the d was giving the Bills. News flash - The offense can run the ball, have a conservative passing game, and maybe 3-4 times a game go up top. This would of won the game for the Bills! Pathetic play calling. Bush is way to slow to bounce it out. Roman needs to learn personnel is not all the same. This was an issue last year at times.

Fans in my section expected a Ravens win and were disappointed their team barely beat a woeful team like Buffalo. It was just a ho hum win for them. They kinda felt sorry for me for a minute.

This. This so much. Being at this game, it felt like a foregone conclusion that the Ravens would suck and still beat us. There was absolutely no worry among the home crowd that we would beat their simplistic defensive scheme and laughable offense. And we were happy to oblige all day long. Absolutely nothing positive to report back about this game, except...

Bills fans travel well, are the best fans in the league, and are rabidly loyal despite being continuously fed a garbage product.

Thanks for the in-person write-up...always a different angle then on TV, subjected to the Wisdom of Solomon.

My only comment which is contrary to some I've seen and the OP is that I have no problem with the 1st half challenge. Challenges are about risk/reward. Given what we could see on the replays, it was possible the call would be overturned and called a TD. Call it 1/4 or 1/5 chance. Now if it were 2nd half or even 1st quarter, I might say don't challenge as the risk of losing the timeout outweighs it. But in that game situation they probably weren't going to need the time out anyway so it's worth taking the shot at getting the call and de-risking having to get it on 3rd or 4th down.

I don't know about running the same play again as they tried before the challenge...some might say that's the last play the Ravens would expect!

I still say that not having a between the tackles running platooning with Shady is a huge problem.

WHen the OL is not getting his complicated run schemes blocked our backs Shady loses huge yardage because he will bounce it or reverse his field......

A banger like J. Williams will get you 4 yards even if the blocking sucks.....and if someone misses a tackle he is gone BETWEEN THE TACKLES forcing those safeties that are taking our deep ass away to come down.

We missed him today

Yep. I live near Baltimore so it was easy to be there. I felt so bad for all the great Bills fans who flew down or drove the 400 miles. The only thing they really had to cheer was pre game warmups. One guy near me had the Bills construction hat on and face paint. He was so quiet all day save for the one TD. I just felt horrible seeing all the Bills

Fans leaving there with nothing to be excited about.

Some of the most obnoxious drunken fans I have seen were at Yankee Stadium. You expect some rumbling will occur when the Red Sox are in town, but one time when the Yankees were playing the Twins, a totally drunk guy sitting in front of us provoked a fight with fans wearing Red Sox shirts. He was shouting profanity, and flipping the bird, and actually went up several rows to start a fight before he was finally escorted to the gate.

I agree that most baseball games are not like that though.

This Thursday will be interesting as far as drunks. The drinking can start earlier for a night game. It is kind of like rookie night!

Apparently the Bills are planning stricter security at private lots now, not just Bills Parking lots.

It is pretty hard to get in 8 hours of power drinking before most 1 PM games! :flirt:

Honestly...Ravens fans were pretty soft. Redskins fans are a dif. animal. I was openly cheering for the Bills and everyone just kept their mouth shut.

Too funny, I have had the opposite experience. I have partied with the Skins fans, and had a great time.

The fans were fine. Kitties. One in the stadium entrance yelled bills suck, old man with his wife. I replied "so does she.". He was befuddled.

During the game I sat in front of obnoxious 50something yr old. He asked about oj in the 2nd and 3rd. I didn't mention ray ray rice. Or ray ray lewis. But hey, I did make a slighted comment on it saying no matter what I was told don't mention rice or lewis. Woman in front of me, huge ravens fan who gave me **** asked what I said and I said no I can't say it or it'll happen to me like it did the one he did it too. She laughed and her friends asked what was funny. They were laughing. The group around me seemed to enjoy me and I them.

One moment behind me after the guy mocked the only bills he remembered yelling how many rings does kelly have? Thurman? Etc. He than talked **** about how they were awful and eventually about how everything they've done in life is awful they're losers etc. I has enough, I said excuse I don't mean to be rude but I don't know if you know about Jim kelly. His son had krabbes disease. Since he has raised millions to help families of this disease, one that leaves children paralyzed, a helpless child suffering for no reason. He had cancer, was not supposed to live. He fought hard on cancer. Has raised the attention to fighting a good fight for so many causes. He is a hof quarterback and a tremendous person. So if you want to bash him, think to yourself what has any of your players done in the last 10-15 yrs that has done more than just Jim? Because certainly we both know there has not been much good humanity stories from this team.

He got uncomfortable. Ravens fans thanked me. His wife leaned over and said it was amazing and she was very happy to hear he has done so much for the world. At the end of the game he stopped me as I left and apologized. I accepted saying none was necessary.

His brother, middle of the fourth right aftrr the kelly issue ...and after his brother and I kept friendly banter up said you just need to shut up and watch the game. I said why? Its just fun take your own advice. He was drunk as ****. Challenged me to fight. Said shut up and watch the game he wasn't scared to drop me. Wasn't scared to lose his psl's over me... etc. He was drunk. I didn't care. I just said take your own advice man. And tuned him out as he kept talking. His sister in law took him from his seats about a minute later

Regardless, the family behind me was still fun. They photo bombed us, chatted with us and introduced themselves. The couple next to us, he knew football she was fun and knew it too. All around great experience.

the game. Only comment I have is it was the worst high school football team performance I have ever seen. The entire team and staff was just awful and it showed from the first kickoff. The stadium had no energy and the bills no excuse to blow

Fans were pretty cool for the most part, had an idiot in front of us that was a bit over enthusiastic and you could tell each time he/she cheered it was kind of an in your face thing, but really pretty harmless. The Baltimore inner harbor is great and it was teeming with Buffalo fans, it was a great atmosphere. the tailgating had an overwhelming aroma of old bay which isn't a bad thing. Overall a very pleasant experience...but holy hell was it hot in the upper stands, thankfully the game wasn't saturday, pretty sure we would have all melted

Just got home from the game and was hoping the 75 minute drive would calm me down, but nope...

The Fans

I didn't have a single fan say a word to me about being a Bills fan. The parking lot didn't really fill up until the last hour before the game and none of the tailgating was all that impressive. When watching the game, I only had to stand up 2 times the entire game. The fans were nice, but overall timid and nowhere near the atmosphere the Ralph generates.

My observation from the game was that it was probably the worst, boring game I've ever been to. Hoping this is a wake up call for the offense. I think we'll see what this team truly is on Thursday. We've had the Jets number the last few years, we NEED to win that game. I know it's only week 2 but it's close to a must win w the cards and pats after that. On a side note, the stadium was nice, the fans were nice, and the ppl of Baltimore were awesome. Went out to Mick O' Sheas Saturday night and ppl were buyin us shots and drinks all night. I'd def come back.

The Jets' secondary can be exposed, but they won't be by a Bills team minus Watkins. Unless Fitz has a terrible, turnover-laden game, the Jets are likely to win.

McCoy was in you only have to break the plane and he did

Why can't Williams play the whole game?

Is there an injury again?

Corbin Bryant is nowhere near a starter in the NFL

but I can't bag on the D they did their job....you give up 13 you gotta win

the oline was dominated, scary dominated Miller Mills side was brutal...... blitz pick up not poorly done, not done at all

Roman has to have an answer, he didnt.

Ravens played fast, Buffalo look a step slow all game on offense, Tyrod's footwork was off. Rarely got turned feet east and west not north and south it was very odd. The penetration by Ravens online was every play, they only positive ones were reversing field, and getting it on your own.

Ravens hit a play on Duke and made a 50 yarder

We scored a TD and missed from 48 that was the difference it wasnt one sided

Saying their a good defense doesn't cut it and of course our media guys don't ask. They are a good front seven honestly and this is one game but things have to get a lot better in a hurry
