We're gonna suck this year.
Saxum Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Obviously there are rounding errors in their calculations. I can see that at a glance.
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 @fboutsiders Check out our updated 2016 DVOA projections, accounting for preseason injuries and personnel moves. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2016/2016-dvoa-projections Interesting, if you apply the rankings to our schedule, I get 9 times we have the higher ranking and 7 times our opponent does. Plus, we get off to a relatively tough start of 1-3. The end of the year is our salvation.
jo39416 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 This is showing a +6 for ST for the Ravens this year - do not understand that at all.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 @fboutsiders We've now got updated playoff odds posted. Week 1 DVOA on the way in an hour or two. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/playoffodds
r00tabaga Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Fins have the worst road to the playoffs, Jests not far behind...

Buffalo Bills (2-2) Odds of making playoffs: 40.0 percent The Bills are a difficult team to get a read on because of the circumstances surrounding their season. Right now, they rank 10th in DVOA, higher than any other 2-2 team. Their 33-18 win over Arizona will look better to our numbers if the Cardinals can fix their problems and play more like they did in 2015, but it will look worse to our subjective opinions if the Cardinals keep struggling all season. And how much credit does the Bills' defense really deserve for shutting out a Patriots offense that was using an injured third-string quarterback?

I guess the question would be how much credit do the Patriots get for shutting out the Texans with the same line up the previous week? Follow up question - how much credit do the Texans get for dominating the weakest division in football? This is all BS. Edited October 5, 2016 by MDFan
26CornerBlitz Posted October 19, 2016 Author Posted October 19, 2016 @fboutsiders FO playoff odds also updated. Yes, we really have Buffalo 4th to win the SB. They'd only have to beat 1 NFC team! http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/playoffodds
26CornerBlitz Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 @fboutsiders New DVOA ratings: #Eagles back to No. 1 as defenses dominate 2016, a year with no great teams or balanced teams. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2016/week-7-dvoa-ratings
Punt75 Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 We are #6 in Special Teams. Last year we finished #12. Maybe Kathryn is helping as the S/T quality control coach??

Big C Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Interesting that a lot of these models still show us as a solid team.

So even with all the injuries it appears the Bills are playing above average but getting below average results for their level of play...us and Pittsburgh(10th) are the only teams in the top 10 without a winning record
