Depends on who you ask: https://t.co/TOO9HrMpie "That's the unspoken rule around here, that it's playoffs or bust for us," guard Richie Incognito said. "We have to get there and this is the first step in the journey."

NoSaint Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 well, richie, if its unspoken why are you talking to reporters about it?!?
The Frankish Reich Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 well, richie, if its unspoken why are you talking to reporters about it?!? Richie never got that first rule of fight club.
BillsVet Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Berchtold's day just got a whole lot better. So much for that non-ultimatum.
Bill from NYC Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 There is no reason for Rex to be in any fear of losing his job. None. He ruined a great defense last year and they let him bring in his brother to help make it worse.

And if Rex won't pop that lap band for us, we can at least have 600 lbs of Ryan Bros. to see if that'll work.
Rocky Landing Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 The pessimist in me says, "bust, it is..." The optimist in me says, "this is the year we go to the playoffs. Word." The rationalist in me says, "what's for dinner?"
26CornerBlitz Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 Who wouldn't want the players to have this kind of attitude and approach to the season?
CountryCletus Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Heard this once or twice... Or 16 times...
BuffaloBaumer Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Let's start with not being eliminated from the playoffs by December 1. That's how pathetic this stretch of 16 years has become...just try not to suck

Maybe Richie thinks he'll be Rex's 2016 scapegoat if the Bills miss.

LeGOATski Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Why would anyone try to spin this as an ultimatum reference? He's just saying that their goal is to make the playoffs. Every player knows that will define the season over anything else. We hear this every single year. Every single year.

LeGOATski Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 You know why. I try to see the best in people...including the Bills' media and fanbase. Why can't we all just get along?
Fadingpain Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 (edited) Reporter: "Richie, what is the mood in the locker room heading into Week 1? What are the team's goals?" R.I.: "You know, I'd say the general mood is one of cautious optimism tempered with a dose of pragmatic realism. I think most of us are just trying to avoid being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs by Thanksgiving." Doesn't have the same ring as "Playoffs or bust baby!!!!" Reed83HOF Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Sigh...depressing times, our goal is to make the playoffs. The goal should always be to win the whole damn thing, but I get it winning in the NFL is hard to do.... End of the year wrap up meeting, hey guys we met our goal and got the playoffs Great year! It's too bad we were dismantled by the surprising in round one by Browns 51-3 and then they lost 100-0 against Alex Smith in the divisional round. Does getting to the playoffs really do anything for us? Other than hey, we got here at least its not 16 years anymore; it is now 21 years since we actually won a playoff game. Seems like a defeatist and slightly loser-ish type goal...

Also, any given Sunday. And don't forget, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
