...because Springsteen is playing Shout as part of his setlist in the 2016 tour. He played it the other night when we saw him & we sang along with Bills lyrics. It got us pumped up for Bills football!

Wait. Is this a thread about Yolo getting pizza in the mail from an anonymous benefactor, or this is an open invitation for others to come up with the own reasons why we have a real chance to win on Sunday?

Yes

Was this a trick question?

Was a LaNova guy. Many a steak and hot pepper slice at 4 am in my 20s and early 30s carved out the Peter Griffin Adonis of my 40s.

LaNova was originally located in Tonawanda.

LaNova was originally located in Tonawanda.

You could have told me it originated in Love Canal and that the ingredients all came from the original site, and if it tasted like that I still would have sought it out and eaten it.

I just had a Bocce pizza mysteriously delivered to my door by FedEx. Someone overnighted it to me. I don't know who. O_O

It's a sign.

Whoever they are is a very intelligent person with the finest taste.

But knowing the address is a little creepy. It's OK, I'm not dangerous. :)

Actually, I'm starting to think Yolo is on commission, as I've got a craving for the opener.... Hmmmm

what is Buffalo pizza?

I go to this joint in Fairport, been there near fifty years, same guy (owner) answers the phone. everytime. for near fifty years. no checks no coupons no advertisement. no upgrade to the place, checkerboard table cloth and high school sports pics. no money at all into the place that i can discern.

but the ovens and the recipe ooh la la

Come out exactly the same each time. never waivers. that's what makes a great pizza joint. you like it or you don't. They do not care because they believe they know what has been working will keep working.

even the wings, perfect every single time.

how does this happen. I come to TBD and get really hungry, this place kills me. Or will kill me lol

Oh i am so ordering TKs Sunday. So now i have to eat salad and healthy crap for 3 days before and after.

Thanks alot guys.

we better beat them Ravens !

Like Bocce's. That's Buffalo style pizza. You can't find anything like that anywhere in the world. The sweeter sauce that creeps up onto the crust, the overabundance of cheese, the small, thick cut pepperoni that curls up and leaves a pool of grease in the middle, etc. That's what I'm talking about.

This is starting to feel like pizza porn, but those small, greasy, barely burnt pepperoni slices make my mouth water. It's why I went through a tropical storm to Casa di Pizza in FL last week despite being far away. And the cheese! Why don't others do that? I'm serious now about getting The Bocce half baked shipped for the opener. Yolo gets rich, while we get fat! :)

they want to end the suffering of the Bills fans endured for 16 seasons....and the road to recovery starts this Sunday!!

Another thing that is a coincidence this year is that the Regular Season (full-set of games) is starting on 9/11. There is going to be lot of emotions on and off the field on a day where people who sacrificed their lives to keep the freedom alive will be remembered and prayed for.

Go Bills!

TKs is awesome pizza. Haven't had it in awhile though. Also never had their wings. I know what I'll be eating this wknd!! And as much as Liftbridge Lane has grown and become more modernized, you're right about TKs....still the ratty looking pizza joint in the middle.

Easy to miss it !

Ah ha !

I understand.

I love football season

As long as I'm not required to order mimosas. I would prefer the manly nickname Spicy Bloody Mary Law.

A mimosa is just a waste of good sparkling wine.

I found out it was my boss who sent me the Bocce pizza - haha. He's a huge Steelers fan, and sent it to me for "good luck" for Buffalo to beat their division rival Ravens. He hates Baltimore. He also sent me a bottle of Crown after the Bills beat the Jets to help the Steelers get in the playoffs last year.

I'm a little worried to check the mail the week we play the Steelers though.

I am from Buffalo, have lived in Denver for 14 years and the thing I crave the most when I'm here and crush the most when I'm there is Buffalo style pizza. It's the best. Over the wings (which are also the best), over the beef on weck (which I love too) and certainly over the silly Sahlen's hot dogs that Buffalonians are obsessed with (overrated). I would take Buffalo style pizza over NY or Chicago style pizza and believe me, I've had the best of those too. Ironically, people who have never left Buffalo don't even realize that their pizza is unique to the region; they just think that's what pizza looks and tastes like everywhere. It does not. It's amazing.

Ok... You've hooked me... We aren't from the area, but make the 2 hour drive for home games.... Apparently I'm in the dark with this whole pizza thing... Can you explain where to go, and what makes their pizza different? In not a fan of Chicago style pizza...

My favorite close to the stadium is Imperial pizza on Abbott. Very good Buffalo style pizza. If you are in the north towns, a lot of people like Bocce's, but Leonardi's is at 6 corners (Eggert, Longmeadow, Milleersport, Grover Cleveland) about 3 minutes from Bocce's and is just flat out better. Leftover Leonardi's heated up the next day might be the best thing ever. When you reheat it, the crust crisps up and it is just unreal.

What makes it unique?

What makes it unique?

i agree with Metz. It's the sauce, cheese and crust and the way the pepperoni gets a little burnt and curls up on the sides. You just have to try it. And, all Buffalo pizza must only be heated up the next day in the oven. Amazing.

I haven't had Leonardi's yet (but need to). My favorites are Abbott Pizza, Blasdell Pizza, Bocce, LaNova.

I'm cerainly going to give it a go this year!!! And for the record, the only way to heat ANY pizza is the oven, lol

They have the best recipe, but they are too successful now and care nothing about their product. The last few times I ordered (when Leonardi's is closed), it has been complete undercooked slop. There is a lack of oversight from management and the quality of their pizza suffers from it. Leonardi's is the same recipe I think and much, much more consistent.

Quite a few years ago, when the old man died, the kids all went off on their own...using the Bocce name. And, some are better than others I must admit. I patronize the two run by one son.....the location on Bailey avenue and the one on Hopkins road. the quality in those locations is the best as always. I have tried the one on Transit in the plaza, it doesn't quite stand up to the other two I frequent.......but it has the name and is still decent. I understand there are a couple of others....one on Elmwood...never been there. Anyhow......I still do that regularily. And, when my sons return to town to attend the Bills games with me....they always have to get a Bocce Club Pizza. Curious what location you purchased from..?????
