ericwza Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Forgive me if this was already discussed. Has it been established who is the 3rd receiver? Is it Goodwin?
NoSaint Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 i would assume by committee based on play packages. id expect goodwin, if healthy, to be among the guys getting solid looks. but also mention that clay, mccoy, and bush... will be potential "3rd receivers" even in 2 wr sets.
r00tabaga Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Goodwin or Salas depending on looks and situation. It's as simple as that I'm told.

I'm also expecting Clay / Shady / Bush to line up as the "3rd WR" plenty. I ultimately think Shady will be 2nd on the team in targets with Woods 3rd. Hypothetically we could look like a 4 WR team with our base package, putting Clay & Shady in the slots with Gronk back as the protector/dump off back.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Goodwin or Salas depending on looks and situation. It's as simple as that I'm told. Yep.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Goodwin or Salas depending on looks and situation. It's as simple as that I'm told. So Salas after the week 3 injury report..
r00tabaga Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 (edited) So Salas after the week 3 injury report..They don't call him Glass for nothing. Edit: I hope I'm wrong. Great speed, good dude. Edited September 7, 2016 by r00tabaga
Green Lightning Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 So Salas after the week 3 injury report.. Exactly.
The Frankish Reich Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 So Salas after the week 3 injury report.. Week 3? That Ironman level for Goodwin ... I fully expect him to go down in the first game. Or maybe in warmups.
Santana Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I wouldn't be surprised if Tate comes in and becomes the 3rd receiver by week 2
Buffalo_Stampede Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 (edited) Our receiving options are Watkins, Clay, Woods, McCoy, Bush, and then the next WR. We will run a lot of 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE sets and 2 WR, 2 TE, 1 RB sets. The Gragg injury really hurt the Bills IMO. Hopefully O'Leary can add something. Edited September 7, 2016 by TheTruthHurts
The BLUES Brothers Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Someone brought up the interesting opinion that we may have signed Tate because Reggie Bush is going to be involved often as a pass catching option out of the backfield. Would be an interesting first series move to use Bush as a Pass Catcher to keep Ravens secondary flat footed and open other targets later in the game.
Bleeding Bills Blue Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 My guess is goodwin comes on in 3rd and longs maybe to shift woods to slot. Salas maybe in the 3rd and short/middle stuff so he can use the size/quickness to get open near the sticks. I think they want to spread the ball around considerably.
Houston's #1 Bills Fan Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I wouldn't be surprised if Tate comes in and becomes the 3rd receiver by week 2 Don't count on it. Reports from the Bengals fans indicate not that great of a pick up. Besides, if not Goodwin, I'd stick with Powell for 3rd WR.
JPicc2114 Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 The third receiver is Charles Clay in all reality

This is pretty close but I think it'll look more like: Watkins, Watkins, Watkins, Clay, Woods, McCoy, Bush, and then the next WR.
John from Riverside Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I am expecting a lot of Goodwin running coverage deep and underneath throws to Watkins, our rbs, and Clay
