26CornerBlitz Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 @GregABedard I wonder how hard @richarddeitsch fell out of his chair when Aikman blasted Bayless https://t.co/0AQlxkBkpB Troy Aikman has worked for Fox Sports for 15 years and has been the network’s lead NFL analyst since 2002. His reputation among staffers—especially those on his NFL production crew—is excellent. He is also known among sports media writers as being a particularly honest interview, and that was the case last week when Sports Illustrated contacted him about his network’s hiring of Skip Bayless. “To say I’m disappointed in the hiring of Skip Bayless would be an enormous understatement,” Aikman said. “Clearly, [Fox Sports president of national networks] Jamie Horowitz and I have a difference of opinion when it comes to building a successful organization. I believe success is achieved by acquiring and developing talented, respected and credible individuals, none of which applies to Skip Bayless."
CountryCletus Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I can't wait to see these two together!!!! Complimenting one another in front of the camera.... Lmao
GunnerBill Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Is there a history to this I don't know about? Skip worked in Dallas for a spell right?
Chandler#81 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 IIRC, Didn't Bayless infer Troy was Gay when he covered the Cowboys in that era? I seem to recall this and the Cowboys PR began a campaign of covering Aikman on dates with models & actresses.. I can't argue with Troyboy. Bayless is trash -and has been since way.
dollars 2 donuts Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Honestly, I've always thought Troy was good in the booth. A fairly straight shooter. Additionally, I like that he doesn't make himself "The Show". If this is what he thinks about Bayless then I'll go with him on it.

CountryCletus Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Does Skip stand for the national anthem?
NickelCity Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 He has a point. It's difficult to find a more nauseating personality in the industry than Bayless.
CountryCletus Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 He has a point. It's difficult to find a more nauseating personality in the industry than Bayless. Look on the bright side, it could have been Stephen A Smith....
CountryCletus Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Wouldn't it be interesting to try and follow commentary by Dan Lebetard's dad????
thurst44 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Wow, my opinion of Troy Aikman just went waaaay up.
DCbillsfan Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I thought Aikman was real good. Now he is outstanding. Bayless is a moron.
Captain Hindsight Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Skip absolutely sucks. I hate him more than I've hated any TV personality ever. Always like Aikman in the booth and this only improves my opinion of him
IDBillzFan Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I think anyone in the press who insinuates in print that someone is gay should lose their freaking job immediately.
CountryCletus Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I think anyone in the press who insinuates in print that someone is gay should lose their freaking job immediately. I suppose I agree, wtf does it matter what someone's sexual preference is.... Was that his version of "Breaking News" back in the day?
IDBillzFan Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I suppose I agree, wtf does it matter what someone's sexual preference is.... Was that his version of "Breaking News" back in the day? I think it was a feature article he ran at the time. Seriously hate the day when sports writers thought we cared about hearing ANYTHING from them other than sports-related stories. I don't care what Bayless thinks about AIkman's sexuality. I don't care what Timmah Graham thinks about the Redskins. I don't care what Bob Costas thinks about guns. Talk about sports and then STFU you self-absorbed, click-baiting chuckleheads.
Fadingpain Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Aikman seems to have a lot of detractors when it comes to his broadcasting work. I have always found him to be quite good, but a little dry. Let's hope the tension grows between these two until there is some crazy outburst on live TV. That could be entertaining.
