CardinalScotts Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Manny did all the small things that go unnoticed to a lot of people watching. The ability to set the edge versus the run is a huge concern, you could play him at DE, OLB, ILB and he did them all really well. Probably their best linebacker, yes he making a little cash and he's in his 11th year. I still don't understand it there has to be something else there. The suspension, the shoulder, something- we will know if he's not picked up or if he is.
Offside Number 76 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Wouldn't get into any reason why he was released other than Lorenzo beating him out. Thanks man. Hope to see you over at SabreSpace again soon. It's been a while. --11.
RussellDopeland Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 (edited) Wow! Lawson was an alright player, I suppose. But this thread is amazing- you'd think the Bills had just axed a Darryl Talley, Cornelius Bennett, or Sam Rogers. Edited September 2, 2016 by RussellDopeland
BobbyC81 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Rex must be thinking..... I don't know what the hell Rex is thinking. Yeah, the guy is losing it. He did just have his offense run the wishbone, even if it was a meaningless 4th preseason game.
thebandit27 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Rex must be thinking..... I don't know what the hell Rex is thinking. That's a Major League reference, isn't it?
Beef Jerky Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Yeah, the guy is losing it. He did just have his offense run the wishbone, even if it was a meaningless 4th preseason game. Oh HE had them do it? Did Roman get a HC job or something?
Nick the Greek Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 (edited) He was nasty under the Marrone/Schwartz D. Under Rex.. Not so much. Let him walk I say. Edited September 2, 2016 by Idandria
Beef Jerky Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 He was nasty under the Marrone/Schwartz D. Under Rex.. Not so much. Let him walk I say. He wasn't that good under Schwartz, that is only a myth.
CardinalScotts Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 he was oustanding under Pettine, not used under schwartz and terrific last year. he's a loss for sure
thebandit27 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 He was nasty under the Marrone/Schwartz D. Under Rex.. Not so much. Let him walk I say. I actually found the exact opposite to be true. Manny was miscast as a Sam in Schwartz's D, which is why he didn't play as much. In Rex's D, he could play his ideal role, so he was effective (not great, but passable) he was oustanding under Pettine, not used under schwartz and terrific last year. he's a loss for sure You have very low standards for "outstanding" and "terrific" if Manny fits those descriptions.
Mr. WEO Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Programming alert - Rex is going to be on Murph after the break... More like Murph was going to be all over Rex...
Billsman623 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Some people's reactions to this is comical. You would have thought we released an in his prime Bruce Smith. Lawson is aging, average, over paid, and under investigation by the NFL. I'm not shocked.
Dopey Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Yes, we really should shut down all these discussion boards. Life would be more fun if we just deferred to the experts and didn't share all of our half-informed opinions. Damn the internet! Damn Al Gore!
White Linen Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Yeah, what could go wrong? That's not the point. Acting like a fan would have enough knowledge to know better than the coaches and GM is a bit ridiculous.
BobChalmers Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 He's far better than Biermann. Who was also cut.
Dopey Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Wondering if they don't trust the pec to not totally tear pretty soon. He is older and I know us older folks don't heal as quick and are susceptible to re-injuries.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Who was also cut. He earned his release.
Manther Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I don't get it...his versatility was deemed as a key to the Bills success if any of the LBs went down and he excelled at setting the edge...I HATE this move. I believe the Bills will live to regret this decision. Agreed. Something odd.Rex must be thinking..... I don't know what the hell Rex is thinking.Bahhahha
