26CornerBlitz Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I don't disagree at all. Neither is very good though. Alexander obviously surpassed him and with Shaq coming back at some point this season they couldn't justify his cap hit.
mikemac2001 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Might be a bring back ??? At lower rate??
Canadian Bills Fan Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Manny Lawson the unstoppable run stopper? Weak at LB's and no Dareus for first 4 games CBF
eball Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Felton cut only saves $350K...Rex wanted Baby Gronk.
thebandit27 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I think vets get cut now because unused cap space as of week 1 can be rolled over to next season.
BuffaNole3 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 They must really like the kid McCray they just traded for.
Mr. WEO Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Dude, the guy might be suicidal. Have you no decency? Refused to wear the "Skipper Hat"?
4merper4mer Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Well, on the plus side, they must be pretty confident that Shaq will be ready to roll week 7 Huh? The first 6 games don't matter? They were worried about announcers getting confused because of the same last name? Example # 3,427,821 of how fans don't really have any clue as to what's going on... ...oh, and now Felton is gone also. I do agree with that. We don't know the inner workings of the locker rooms and the Bills won't be the only team to have a surprising cut.
Andrew Son Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Huh? The first 6 games don't matter? They were worried about announcers getting confused because of the same last name? Huh? Lorax and Hughes start first 6 games
Big C Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Seriously? And if Alexander blows or Hughes gets hurt what do you do then? Re-sign Manny Lawson.
K D Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Makes no sense. He was our starter. We have nobody worth a crap at that position now
klos63 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Wow, that one does hurt... he isn't even a "meh" guy, I felt he was truly an asset to this team. Even if Alexander DID outplay him, wouldn't he still have great value as a backup, vs outright cutting him? I mean, injuries DO happen, we need skilled bodies at LB in a 3-4. not at $2.4 million, that's horrible value for a backup.
klos63 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Makes no sense. He was our starter. We have nobody worth a crap at that position now Unless the coaches see this differently than you do. And you really can't say he was our starter, since he wasn't.
thebandit27 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Perhaps that is the intent, risky because he will be picked up most likely. Unless they had a wink-nod agreement in place...who knows at this point? I agree that it leaves them woefully thin at the EDGE spot.
YoloinOhio Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 Maybe they pick up a vet released elsewhere who they like better
Big C Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Has anyone considered that Whaley went rogue again??
Freddie's Dead Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Lawson is a surprising cut, given our LB injuries. Felton not so much. Farewell, Manuel, enjoyed watching you play while you were here.
Coach Tuesday Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 No it makes sense - cut the most experienced, versatile LB in a highly complicated defense that requires experienced, versatile LBs and doesn't have enough of them... This is such a Bills move.
Bocephuz Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Say what you will about Manny.. but he was solid in setting the edge and decent in pass coverage. If this was a money saving/cap thing... then I think it's a dumb move. Who's going to set the edge? If this was more about off the field risks we don't know about.. then fine. Or maybe this to make room to sign Coples?
