The Bills have claimed center Patrick Lewis via waivers.
The Seahawks waived Lewis Tuesday. He started nine games at center last season but this summer had fallen to second on the depth chart behind Justin Britt.
With the Bills, Lewis will presumably compete with Fernando Velasco for the backup center job behind Eric Wood.

Lewis, 25, originally signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Green Bay before catching on with the Browns, Jaguars, and Seahawks.
The Seahawks re-signed Lewis to a one-year, $1.671 million contract back in April.

Damn, you're quick!

Even quicker than that -- I posted in another 2 threads and realized they would get buried so I deleted one and started a new thread.

I've seen so much criticism of Lewis over the past year or so from Seahawks fans. One guy I trust thinks he's capable as a starting C in the league.

Can't be worse than Velasco, that's for sure.

My Lindy's said about him "play of line improved markedly when he took over starting

role at mid-season." He started 9 games for them last year. Sounds like a future replacement for Wood.
