Why would they look any more stupid than anybody else?

Because of what happened in Philly last night.

THREE VIOLENT ATTACKS: CONNECT THE DOTS

Three stories have hit the news almost simultaneously; consider the features they have in common. In Philadelphia, a 25-year-old man named Nicholas Glenn walked up to a police car and started firing on the two officers inside.

He then shot four civilians, one of whom died, before being cornered and killed by police officers. Glenn left behind a letter “in which he expressed hatred toward police and probation officers.” Another skirmish in the war on cops.

In New York, a Palestinian named Akram Joudeh was picked up two months ago while screaming “Allahu akbar” outside a Brooklyn synagogue. He was ordered deported, and was in Midtown on Thursday appealing his deportation notice when he started attacking bystanders with a meat cleaver. An off-duty NYPD officer confronted Joudeh and was slashed down the side of his face, requiring 70 stitches. Police shot Joudeh when he refused to drop the meat cleaver.

This morning, in Seaside Park, New Jersey, a five-kilometer race was scheduled to be run to benefit Marines and sailors. Last year, thousands participated:

This morning, a “suspicious backpack” was discovered shortly before the race was to begin, causing organizers to cancel the event. Not long thereafter, a pipe bomb exploded in a garbage can along the route, at “the exact time when runners would have been passing by the location.” The pipe bomb scattered debris for 150 feet; it was connected to two other bombs that failed to go off. At last word, authorities were searching for additional devices. The perpetrator(s), as yet unknown, seem to have been imitating the Boston Marathon bombers.

By all means Eagle players...........kneel down to show your solidarity with the war on police. :wallbash:

Well, it is the #1 selling jersey right now....

Only in America.

In the land of the many, the one that defects from the crowd is King!

The true American spirit.

There is no "I" in America... But there is a "Me."

(And... You also can't have America with an "Eric." ;-) ;-) ;-/ )

It's what the conservatives created... All about the "individual"... The "me"... The "self."

:-P

I didn't even know about it.

cnn.com has it pretty hidden. I swear it wasn't even on there before.

I did see this :

Cop shoots into car full of teens

Was that really on CNN? from 2013? And the cop was charged? And fired?

Wait, I was told that doesn't happen.

Anyways the narrative that the police are out to kill people (they aren't) is irreparably harming places in which there is serious crime and empowering individuals to not adhere to the commands of law enforcement. That is dangerous and is getting more people hurt than it is helping anything.

Ooops... Accidently deleted my reply.

Here's a recap:

Glad it wasn't one of our kids! JUST listen to the commands Jr!

Listen to the commands!

In same breath:

Do you disagree that Police require some level of authority?

No. Not at all.

But where do we draw the line, there are a lot of tools out there and even bigger ones sitting behind the supervisor's desk.

It is the over-officious jerks that are causing the collateral damage. It is ticky tacky "Broken Windows" run amok.

Please Stand, Sit, or take a Knee for the National Anthem.

Or do what ever you damn well please. Forced respect is not respect.

What do you mean where do we draw the line? Either they have authority or they don't. If you are referring to terry stops, well the court gave police that authority. We are a society of laws. If you feel your rights are being infringed then challenge them in the court of law. You will certainly make out better than resisting and maybe richer. There is no concerted effort of police to shoot civilians.

Of course!

For many, it is "Them vs Us." Live with the pros and cons of that.

I think the indictment was new.

Couldn't agree more with the rest of your post.

Cops are like the TSA. One airport, it seems perfectly fine to go through with something... Then the next it isn't. What gives? But everybody has heartburn with them.

You know what gives? Its their own private playground I guess.
