HamSandwhich
The 49ers could now face backlash for making a smart football move and cutting a bad player. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/big-consequences-49ers-cut-colin-000000252.html This is why I think Kaep decided to do what he did. It's going to shine a bad light on the 49ers to cut him and so it's going to make them think whether or not it's worth it.

You don't have to believe it, but the courts are already declaring that and striking them down. From the article linked below. An academic report published in the December 2014 issue of Electoral Studies found more than 14 percent of non-citizens in 2008 and 2010 samples reported being registered to vote. “Our best guess, based upon extrapolations from the portion of the sample with a verified vote, is that 6.4 percent of non-citizens voted in 2008 and 2.2 percent of non-citizens voted in 2010,” reported David Earnest and Jesse Richman, political science professors at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. http://watchdog.org/260524/illegal-immigrants-2016-election/

I think it's a bit of a stretch to suggest the 49ers will make/not make roster decisions based on any "optics".
mannc
Statistically more republicans white voters use the absentee ballot than democrats minority voters. But that is not an issue that should matter. If the legislators are serious about curtailing voter fraud then they should deal with it where it does exist. This is true and it is why the law that was struck down in North Carolina, which supposedly was intended to reduce voter fraud, made an exception for absentee ballots. I don't know it it's true that there is more voter fraud associated with absentee ballots--the scope of the voting fraud "problem" is so miniscule that it is all but non-existent. mannc
So stop with the ridiculous excuses. Let's come up with a plan to get everyone an ID, and they insist they use that ID to vote. Like in Alabama, where the Republican legislature passed a law requiring drivers licenses (or similar identification) in order to vote, then closed down the DMV offices in all of the black majority counties?
