nucci Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Seems like a questionable decision by the NFL; I remain doubtful it will lead to any better information coming out regarding injuries. You're probably correct
What a Tuel Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 It's the questionable status that drive fantasy owners crazy. But now questionable is going to be loaded with all of the probables....
Malazan Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 The only reason I think it matters is for fantasy leagues. If a player is "in" but is coming back from some sort of injury that will limit his playing ability/time then it will screw up most peoples teams. Pretty much the same thing that happened with Stevie. Always had a groin injury and was listed as probable but had some good and bad games. I'm not sure "probable" or "questionable" is all that helpful
26CornerBlitz Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 But now questionable is going to be loaded with all of the probables.... Could be, but players listed as probable almost always played in games. Hopefully those guys just won't be on the injury report to begin with.
vincec Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 This is so underwhelming. Why not just have Out or questionable? Why have anything? Is it to help the bookies set the odds?
machine gun kelly Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Out = 0% chance of playing Doubtful = 25% chance of playing Questionable = 50% chance of playing They removed probable which is 75% chance of playing. Most likely because just about everyone who is probable ends up playing. It's really a big "so what".
BuffaloBill Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Why not just go to binary system "in" or "out"?
Best Player Available Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Vegas is behind this somehow. I just haven't figured out how. That sounds probable....
KD in CA Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 They should just have "Out" and "In". That's all that matters as the rest of it is made up nonsense. Yup. "Probable" has come to mean 99% and therefore meaningless. So I guess Tom Brady will have to be listed as Questionable every week this year.
The Wiz Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Yup. "Probable" has come to mean 99% and therefore meaningless. So I guess Tom Brady will have to be listed as Questionable every week this year. Depends how deep that cut to his thumb is. Might even be doubtful.
The Frankish Reich Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 What a kick to the midsectional extremities of fantasy players.
CommonCents Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Yup. "Probable" has come to mean 99% and therefore meaningless. So I guess Tom Brady will have to be listed as Questionable every week this year. Last year 95% percent of players listed as probable played in their respective games. The problem with removing the probable designation is now some teams like NE will just designate players as questionable. That will cloud judgements for betting purposes and fantasy players, I'm not sure why they felt the need to change it.
