LabattBlue Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 The proof is in the puddin Estelle. Until the games are real and until the team and coaches show that they are able to sustain success then you can color me doubtful. I really like much of what I saw yesterday, but, still skeptical. Me to. 16 years of suckiness will do that to your fandom.
Deranged Rhino Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I'm not sold that DW was the main proponent for extending TT (Pegs, w/ Rex & Box Office Russ) but he did get it done. Â Even though it looked that way, my quoting and changing of your post wasn't really directed at you, it was for all the Rex haters out there. Unlike the Bills FO, he has actually accomplished something positive in this league & I'm more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for last year right now. Â Fair.
3rdand12 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 (edited) Me to. 16 years of suckiness will do that to your fandom. preseason dont mean chit. Â but it was more organized than last year. even with 7 penalties Poor Ben must be sleepless by now. for a team that was possibly vying for the division? they looked weak I saw little to no pressure from their starting D. That should have been the strength Edited August 21, 2016 by 3rdand12
SF Bills Fan Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 (edited) Is Dareus coming back from rehab this year? Serious question (and I'm too lazy to review the whole Dareus thread for that info). I would think he is going to a 30 day program. But, could be longer- 6 months sometimes depending on severity of problem. If he is going to rehab he is going into recovery which, in theory, is never ending. Edited August 21, 2016 by SF Bills Fan
harv shitz Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) I think this team can consistently put up 28-31 points a game. TT is going to have a great year, provided he stays healthy, and McCoy looks lean, fast, and hungry. Â Watkins is only going to be better, after finally arriving the last few weeks last season, and I think Robert Woods will also be a big contributor. Â Tell me if I'm crazy, but I see plenty of excitement this season. Edited August 22, 2016 by harv shitz
drinkTHEkoolaid Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I can honestly say I have no guy feeling whatsoever on what this team will do. Some years I feel "doomed", while others I go in thinking "it's our year". Â Right now nothing would surprise me.

Teams will figure us out. Our defense will be great and our offense will suck/our defense will suck and our offense will be great. We'll finish 7-9 or 8-8 and draft 10-15 in next year's draft. BADOLBILZ Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I don't know if they will actually win the games.....see the Chiefs games the past 3 years for an example of outplaying teams and still losing........ but they should be able to beat anybody. Â I've always felt the key to improvement this year was going to be Tyrod taking his game to another level and it's been well publicized since OTA's that he looks much improved. Â But what has stood out to me while so many fans were throwing themselves with woe about injuries/suspensions is that most of the losses are at positions that are easily replaceable in this defense/offense. Â The defense is better off having experienced role players than trying to develop rookie LB's on the fly. Â And putting Dareus at NT is a gross underuse of talent so they don't need to replace his talent as much as they need to just put another assignment-sound veteran on the field....which is not hard to find and they have in stock. Â I hate to lose a 230#, big play TD scoring RB like Karlos but the reality remains that RB is an easy fix, especially in this system. Â The systems have traction.......the personnel makes sense....some of last year's really disappointing players are armed with a lot more motivation this year.....there are lot's of talented special teamers that should make the roster......even the Bush signing and incentive program for punt returns makes sense for a defense that is going to be all about forcing punts. Â Basically at this point they don't have any significant deficiencies relative to what they are trying to do on O, D or ST.

ganesh Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Â yea we need to be 6-1 or 7-0 to start the year. cause the middle of that schedule is rough. At the start of the season we play Arizona, Patriots equally tough as playing Seattle and the Patriots. There are no easy games in the NFL

Along with Tyrod's emergence, Watkins getting and staying healthy will be a huge factor for the Bills success this year. Without him, this offense will struggle against good teams.
GunnerBill Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 One point BADOL totally nails is the Bills' innate ability to dominate and lose. I'm not sure any other team in the NFL specialises in this skill so much as us over the last 3 years and it has generally come down to our failure to finish in the red zone (I don't know the numbers but if you took average offensive RZ efficiency over the past 3 seasons I guess that we must rank 30th or lower) and failure to convert on key 3rd downs at clutch moments of games. Â The biggest solution to that issue is further growth and development of Tyrod. If he takes a step in those key situations we should be able to stop losing games where we have been the better team.

I think we are all in wait and see mode. no other way to look at it. been burned too many times. but yes, the talent and now the familiarity with scheme seems to be there. and Whaley has built a deeper roster as well, as it seems that the injuries to Rags and Shaq won't hurt much. but so what? if they go 2-3 out of the gate. I'm a fan, but only a DVR fan right now. Edited August 22, 2016 by 8and8-->NoMore

DCbillsfan Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I'm wide awake with all of the bone head things that have happened. Don't forget McCoy and J Williams. Plus when the real games start, will this team be disciplined or do a bunch of 10+ penalty games await us.
Estelle Getty Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) I will assume Dareus will be back for the Patriots game. That being said we have the talent on offense to beat them in Foxboro without brady IF the refs allow it. Although if history is any indicator they will not. The cardinals are not looking all that healthy right now with an aging QB making a rare east coast visit. I think Rex great opening day record continues and we handle the Ravens. Fitzy and the Jets can't beat us on a Thursday night in Buffalo. I honestly think we start 3-1. Edited August 22, 2016 by Estelle Getty
NoSaint Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Even with all the drama, if all our playmakers are generally healthy and reaching potential (ie TT is a dynamic playmaker) -- we can compete with anyone.
