I was pretty impressed with Little. I am not sure what plays he was "outmatched" on. He is a big target who made 2 red zone catches.

#30 running down Rainey on his long run was impressive. Cyrus and John Miller both look improved.

I don't count Shady as a runner being down. No Glenn or Richie for the Oline. Should be fine with them in.

And there was a huge missed block by someone that took him back 7 yards.

Not sure if Woods was supposed to crack down on Thompson, if Felton was, if Groy pulling had him or Darian just made a great play.

Yep. Skurski missed the mark on that one and no Sammy means less room to run.

Annen had a big drop. TE is a very tight () competition. One drop could mean the difference, especially since O'Leary was doing his best Jay Riemersma impression (in retrospect, we gave Jay way too much hate).

Herron and Wilder need to go.

One may stick because all of a sudden, we are depleted at RB. Unless there's an experienced veteran that's available....

I think the coaches gave Gay an opportunity to compete as FG kicker to see if they can make Carpenter expendable, don't forget that this year, with as many injuries and suspensions that specialist spot became a luxury we can't have.

Safe to say, Carpenter's job is secure after last night.

This was what I thought too and it infuriates me. Rex almost immediately jumped on Carpenter last year and it failed. I disagree with trying to get in the head of a kicker by screwing with him.

On kickoffs: with touchbacks coming out to the 25, the relative value of a guy who gets (like Gay) 67 % touchbacks vs. a guy like Carpenter (perhaps 50%?) seems diminished. In fact, you can make a good case that you're better off enticing the other team to attempt a return on a ball kicked 3-4 yards deep into the end zone - sure, you risk a long return, but the receiving team also risks: (1) getting tackled inside the 25; (2) fumbling it away; (3) having a decent return called back on a penalty. In other words, using a roster spot on a kickoff specialist was already questionable under pre-2016 rules; now, the calculus has decidedly tilted against it. So Gay was given a shot to show he's not just a kickoff specialist, and he failed in epic fashion.

I believe that Gays TB % would be much higher if that's what the staff wanted. Many times, I believe he is asked to do just what you suggest...shorter kick so that we can pin a returner back.

Pretty sure it doesn't matter for Felton. He's not on the roster to carry the football or make receptions. He's there to crack heads.

He is, to me, an expensive useless appendage.

I think that one at the end of the half might have been an experiment with a modified on side kick. If it was an experiment it was a success IMO.

All 3 will make the team obviously but I like the way McCoy, and TT looked almost the whole time. Darby OTOH laid way too far off Beckham in the first series. It may have been by design....bad design....but it wasn't pretty.

I came away from the game liking what I saw from McCoy. Even if only looking at his runs you can't make any determination on such few carries, silly.

I like the list, mostly and agree. Wilder Jr. was simply awful. There was one run where he completely missed the hole and ran into the wall, and what got me was that the hole was right in front of him in the direction he was already running.. LOL

As for EJ, I said it last year during camp and I'll say it again. EJ Manuel will be a starting QB in this league next year.

He was what looked like 12 yards deep on one 3rd down play. He moved up a little bit at the snap, but, common man (as you say whether by design or not...).

emmm Tim...if you said that last year you were wrong...

Hard not to like what you saw from #25 yesterday.

This offense is going to score a lot of points if it stays healthy.

He looked like a different quarterback last preseason as well - and then the season started.

I think he looked different also. Not in the way that you're describing though. I think he looks more confident and in command. Especially like the fact that he was getting after the receivers when they ran the wrong route.

Yet Gronk got a carry and kept the ball and is making much less. That does matter.

Fernando Velasco.... A second appearance in two games on this list for the free agent pickup. I said last week that I wanted to see him at guard before I totally gave up on him.... well it wasn't quite as horrific as him at centre but he still got beat on a couple of plays forcing EJ and Cardale to throw before they really wanted to. I'm not impressed and I don't think he is a total lock for the roster if someone who is an out and out centre that the Bills like got cut late by another team it wouldn't amaze me if they picked him up and let Velasco go.

I'm going to miss doing the

sing-along.

Yea I agree. I'm not concerned about the running game but did like what he was doing in the passing.
