Wait a second, are you saying that you know more than 64 HC's and GM's?

Nope. Not at all. You state things as if they are facts. I offer opinions. It's my opinion. I could be wrong.

I do believe that the other 31 teams worry there may be more to the story than had been let on like fans did. So that added to not taking him, the same way guys like Miles Jack fall or other guys slide. But that's just an opinion, too.

He looks good. I like him. If you HAD to choose between him and Karlos right now you may very well take JWill. I may even choose him myself. The point is, you DON'T have to choose right now. You have to choose six weeks from now, when things could look different.

Still working hard at this I see.

You could be wrong, but you don't think so.

Is it fair to say it's your opinion that 62 HC's and GM's are being stupid in this instance and you know better?

It didn't change in two days. As I said, if you had to choose today you may and likely would choose JWill. But you didn't have to choose. ;)

It's not about the talent in this case. Karlos made the choice.

Fair enough but he knows more than them in this particular instance, no?

would it be unheard of for teams to miss on a guy or situation?

i think there is a compelling "why not" argument to be made here based on the information currently available.

even if you cut him, the worst anyones come up with is that the claim "sends the wrong message" but no one wants to own what real effect that message actually materializes into. will teammates start skipping workouts and be less prepared for games if they know you claimed a guy that might never even see your 53?

As do I.

It's a lot like Dri Archer. Claim him and see what happens. No one is dogging it in practice for the Bills right now because we hold Dri's rights. And if he gets his crap together, he's a possible weapon. The reward in Karlos is much bigger and more likely than in Dri, though.

Exactly. Why was Brandon Marshall and a 7th rounder available for a 5th round pick? Teams constantly make gross misjudgments on players, including and especially the Bills. They took a chance on blackballed Incognito and it was a home run. I understand cutting Karlos. There were six reasons for it. I just wouldn't have done it now. If we started the season and after four games none of the four guys ahead of him were hurt and looked decent, I would have cut Karlos then

Source tells me Jets have shown interest in former Bills RB Karlos Williams.

I hope the guy gets his act together, but NOT in the AFCE. That would really blow.

Unless, as some have suggested, they wanted an unmotivated dummy out of their room now.

He ain't playing on 9/15.

Unless, as the only two people in that RB room that have spoke out about publicly, they were shocked and consider him a friend and good guy

No. But I think the Bills and 31 other teams may be dumb to get a talent like him for free and let him see if he can get his **** together in six weeks, and if he doesn't you lose nothing.

But apparently they're not dumb to sign Greg Hardy or Junior Gallette?

Whenever a topic like this come up, the player's defenders use the free option as the justification to keep or sign a player. Except that logic doesn't work on players who aren't picked up, because there's clearly something wrong with that one specific player if no other team is willing to take a risk on a very low cost high potential player. Redskins & Cowboys are notorious for picking up troubled players, yet both have sat this one out, despite having questions at the RB spot.

Did you expect them to come out in public and bad mouth him to the media? Come on!

Update: Former Bills RB Karlos Williams is currently visiting the New York Jets, according to two separate sources.

I would consider those two, especially Hardy, to be menaces to society. I would not be making this argument for them. I don't think Karlos is near that point yet although it's possible. I think Karlos is only at the "being fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life" stage.

I already stated what I consider to be different about what Shady said. Normally I am agreeing with you that they wouldn't. How he said it made me think he really didn't think there was anything else behind the scenes.

I'd add "probable batterer" to your descriptive line. He got off, but you know how that goes. http://deadspin.com/fsus-karlos-williams-not-charged-in-domestic-battery-in-1658022701

by suspension he was going to be forced out of the room for a month in about 2 weeks anyway.

if there was something pressing that we dont know i think I (and kelly, and kirby and...) would agree to have at it and cut him.

the jets bringing him for a workout today though -- why not just claim the dude and you can cut him tomorrow if you dont like him? its a 3 year, league minimum contract with no guarantees

Isn't Karlos a free agent now. No need to claim and lose a waiver spot?

you dont lose a spot. thats not a real thing.

they literally would pick him up on a league minimum deal (couldnt negotiate better if they wanted) and could cut him tomorrow if the workout flops. the cost would be the 90th guy on their roster, a week before cuts.

26 - id be curious about your take on what message this sends and how it is different than the message claiming him would send?
