Kirby Jackson Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Bell appealed and had his lowered to 3 games. Is there any reason to not think that Dareus could do the exact same thing?
GG Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Bell appealed and had his lowered to 3 games. Is there any reason to not think that Dareus could do the exact same thing? If Darcy is in charge of faxing in his appeal, there's a chance.
RyanC883 Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 he should. There is no reason I can think of for the disparate treatment. Also, Bell's "settlement" includes that he stays at the same level in the drug program, meaning that if he tests positive or misses another test, he is only suspended 4 games.
DrDawkinstein Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 After what we've seen from Brady, Dareus should fight this all the way to the SCOTUS, just because.
Andrew Son Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 After what we've seen from Brady, Dareus should fight this all the way to the SCOTUS, just because. So what, Bell got a new phone? Big deal. Dareus destroyed his the day before. Why? Because that's what he does.
thebandit27 Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 The only reason not to appeal is if he lied about missing a test and really tested positive.
Jamie Nails Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Pretty sure he said he wouldn't appeal already
YoloinOhio Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 @tompelissero How'd Le'Veon Bell get suspension reduced? There were some issues with process surrounding missed tests, source said. Reached settlement.
rsxfirefighter Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Just pretty pathetic a Missed Test = 4 games suspension.....but hey....i also dont have a 100 million reasons to go take mandatory tests at a moments notice..
Andrew Son Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Pretty sure he said he wouldn't appeal already Hopefully that doesn't mean anything. I don't think you have to file "I'm not going to appeal papers." Probably a deadline or something
Direhard Fan Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 I really can't believe this guy at all. I watched his press conference and he was a poor excuse of a guy who regretted what he was suspended for. All the team has done for him and he screws up again. He is a problem child in a mans clothing. Sorry- don't think is the last time he will be in trouble.
YoloinOhio Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Unless there was a procedural issue that they can argue lead to the missed test... Which Bell said from the beginning and Dareus never mentioned at all...don't think a settlement is coming.
thebandit27 Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 (edited) "Any Player who is notified by the NFL Management Council that he is subject to a fine or suspension for violation of the terms of this Policy may appeal such discipline in writing within five (5) business days of receiving notice from the NFL that he is subject to discipline" https://nflpaweb.blob.core.windows.net/media/Default/PDFs/Active%20Players/Drug_SOA_Policy_9-29-14.pdf Have to believe that deadline has elapsed since he found out Saturday. Assuming it hasn't, and he filed this week, his appeal hearing would be 4 Tuesdays out, which would be 9/13. That would allow him to play in (most likely) weeks 1 and 2, but would put him out for Weeks 3-7 unless his suspension is reduced. Edited August 19, 2016 by thebandit27
davspo Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 The should suspend him for an additional 4 games for being an idiot.
CommonCents Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 That would be funny if they were calling Marcell'a bluff about missing the test. If he did miss the test getting him back a game early would be huge.
C.Biscuit97 Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 The whole NFL suspension policy is such a joke. In any other field, someone as terrible as Goodell would have been fired long ago.

He needs to be smarter but he certainly earned his money and would have gotten if from 31 other teams in the NFL If the Billls didn't pay him. Edited August 19, 2016 by C.Biscuit97
