Over 29 years of fanhood Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Exactly. Happens to every team. Can't keep everybody. Good players go elsewhere and get paid , especially where they are a perfect scheme fit. CH is a pretty good player. Not a difference in the Bills making playoffs or not. You think Sammy Watkins might look better somewhere else? CH doesn't have a tenth of his talent. Don't understand what this thread is about, really. Tonight will answer how good he is. His team is on their third string QB and are a passing offense. If he is on the feild for beli tonight and steps up...?
The Frankish Reich Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Hogan was and still is JAG Bills 2015 WRs, number of catches/total receiving yards/TDs through 2 games in 2016: Â Hogan 7 catches, 110 yards, 1 TD Watkins 6, 63, 0 Woods 5, 30, 0 Salas 4, 89, 1 Â A JAG amongst JAGs? Salas 4

Salas 4 So you want to try and sell me that is Watkins was on Patriots he would have just 7 catches for 110 yards and a TD? Â Go ahead and try that. Â Salas 3.7M cheaper and just about has same numbers on a run first QB ignores WR offense.

Have you considered that perhaps tonight isn't the optimal moment to be praising the Bills roster management wizardry as opposed to the Patriots?
MAJBobby Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Have you considered that perhaps tonight isn't the optimal moment to be praising the Bills roster management wizardry as opposed to the Patriots? I can when people just think Hogan is this some amazing WR.
dave mcbride Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 I can when people just think Hogan is this some amazing WR. I don't think there's a soul here who thinks that. Most think he's a solid NFL player who is more or less an asset to a team.
Kirby Jackson Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 As an update he's on pace for 43 catches, 651 yards and 5 TDs. Last year he had 36, 450 and 2. He is trending up in a Patriots uniform but not terribly different than he was in a Bills uniform. He's an okay NFL receiver.
May Day 10 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 just wait until Prince Uggs is tossing him the ball
Kirby Jackson Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 just wait until Prince Uggs is tossing him the ball Except he is not going to see a larger percentage of the targets once Gronk is back at full speed.
NoSaint Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 just wait until Prince Uggs is tossing him the ball unless he has an untimely drop or runs a route short of the first down. then you might never see him again. Â how his first game or two with brady go will likely have a pretty huge impact in his long term targets.
LB3 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 (edited) Except he is not going to see a larger percentage of the targets once Gronk is back at full speed. He still might see more than previously expected. In the Pats games I've watched, when they have gone in their big sets with only 1 WR, he's generally been the guy on the field instead of Edelman or Amendola because he's a bigger better blocker. If that remains the same when Tom comes back, he should benefit from the attention Gronk and Bennett get on passes out of those sets. Edited September 23, 2016 by LBSeeBallLBGetBall

He is a good blocker and has played in the 1 WR sets. There must be some plays designed to go to him out of that set.

There must be some plays designed to go to him out of that set. Yeah. Probably not too many designed to him, but he'll have a QB who can actually make it his 3rd read. Although, it could be tough for him because he's never had to worry about the ball coming to him as the 3rd read before.
Marty McFly Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 (edited) Hogan was and still is JAG That JAG is a solid #3 slot receiver. Hes not a world beater but hes gonna go over 50 Recs this season I bet. Didnt make sense to keep him here tho, we werent passing enough. He made some good plays last year with a wrist injury, gotta give him credit for not pussing out like some of our other WRs....... Yeah. Probably not too many designed to him, but he'll have a QB who can actually make it his 3rd read. Although, it could be tough for him because he's never had to worry about the ball coming to him as the 3rd read before. LOL funny but true. Edited September 23, 2016 by Marty McFly
CountryCletus Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 NE- 690+ passing yards BUF- 418... Â Hogan- 15.9% Â Watkins- 15% Woods- 7% Salas- 21% Goodwin- 26.7% Â Numbers aren't nearly as deceiving now...

Over half of his 3 games have been QB'd by the third stringer who has limited attempts and his yardage is looooooow. Not a Hogan guy but that projection is not going to be close.

He was open and would have scored a long TD with a better throw.
