NoSaint
Pats offense calls for sure handed, precise route runners. Enter Hogan.perfect for the Pats winning system as a 2nd or 3rd receiver. I don't think Belicheck wants a bunch of spectacular WRs unless they run perfect routes.Of course he would take a Jerry Rice but he is perfectly happy with the Bobby Chandlers and Fred Biletnikoffs of the world. Hogan was not exceptional at either of those here. Though that doesn't mean he's a bum JAG isn't a huge insult at this level. He's got good size, is faster than given credit for. He's generally underplayed to those attributes though. Rarely did he run by or through a defender. As a reliable 4th option in an offense he's a good contributor- but there are more guys than roster spots for that role around the league... we just didn't do well snagging one in the offseason (though one might argue woods is among the best in that role and we needed someone added above him not below him making the pecking order Sammy, clay, that player and then woods. OldNMBillsFan
Nope. http://www.espn.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=400874489 2nd and 9, gain of 7 (but if you watch the play it was a bit more) So it was then 3rd and 2 (actually 1-1/2). No need to apologize for being wrong (or for being childish with the name-calling). More like 2 1/2. either way. Your 1 foot is bull ****!!!. Woods would be a 3rd option, IMO. He showed his ability vs Sherman.
Over 29 years of fanhood
The bottom line here is patsies "overspend" for the JAG chris hogan who set patriots playoff WR records- For a team that's been there a lot. He's as much a victim of racial stereotypes as any player in the league...

Yea, That's why Hogan is listed as the #2 WR on the Patriots roster with 6 WR's. What Hogan did for Buffalo in 2015 was that he caught a lot of passes for first downs...except not many noticed besides Belichick.

DallasBillsFan1
I agree with Mel Kiper ... OL needs beefing up in draft ... then WR. OL and QB is the key. Everything else falls in place.

ricojes
2 drops and 3 bobbles, at least he hung on to all 3 bobbles in his stats, but he had a great night. I can't understand how he is wide open all the time, but he does it.

JohnC
If you want to believe that he's the second option on the pats, go for it Arguing whether he is the second option or not isn't worth arguing over. What is impressive is that Belichick took a decent player from another team and got him to fit in well with the unit. Hogan added to the mix with Edeleman, Bennett and even Amendola helped to maintain the passing game, even with Gronk being out. Their brilliant HC has also made similar little moves without much draft investment for the running back grouping. While most of the teams play checkers the Pats are playing chess. The Bills with their peculiar logic try to keep up by hiring Rex Ryan. LOL

Rico
Congrats to Hogan, on his way to getting a ring. I don't miss him because I'm not a fan of high-motor lunch-pail WRs in this day and age, but the Pats sure do make it work.
