RevWarRifleman Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Thirty years ago today that the Bills signed Jim Kelly? For me, I was up at Cape Vincent visiting my folks. When I learned that we finally got this guy signed to a contract, that things were about to change for the better for the Bills. For me,there was a sense of relief and excitement. That's just a bit from me, Anybody else care to chip in?
Nuncha Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Delivering newspapers. I remember it like yesterday I was saw the report and the limo on a TV at a customers house as I was collecting. Dang....30 years ago!
thebandit27 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I was 5, and I was playing in my room when my dad burst in and told me: "son, we're finally going to have a good football team again--Jim Kelly is coming to town."
Kirby Jackson Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I was 5 as well. It was the summer time so I was probably outside playing with my brother and the next door neighbors.
jr1 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 probably watching some stupid 80s show like Remington Steele
BuffalothruMyVeins Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I was 2, and I remember celebrating by defecating in the big boy potty. The times, they were a-changin', and I could feel it. I was crappin' proud.
Marv's Neighbor Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Moving from Houston to Seattle. Very happy to be leaving Houston!
GunnerBill Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) I was 2 and when our family friends from Buffalo visited England in the early 90s they brought with them a huge Jim Kelly poster. I had no idea who he was or what American Football was beyond a game where big blokes ran around in silly helmets. All the posters on my walls were soccer players. The poster stayed rolled up in my wardrobe for probably the best part of 10 years. I took it to University with me and had it up in my room there but I am sorry to say I don't know what happened to it after that. Sometimes I wonder if we had the internet and things like gamepass back then in the early 90s whether 8 or 9 year old me would have tried to find out more about who the bloke on the poster in the wardrobe was. Maybe I'd have been able to see him play. God this post is making me hope more than ever that Tyrod is the guy. Edited August 18, 2016 by GunnerBill
Malazan Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I was five and was urinating on a G.I. Joe USS Flag aircraft carrier toy while swinging from a rope tied to a ceiling beam in neighbor's garage.
Oregoncoastfan Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I was a two didget midget in the army finishing my 6 year tour. I had grand plans of partying, watching football, and enjoying life once again! Boy did I such fond memories!
CommonCents Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Going to kindergarten and harrasing Patriots fans and their beloved Steve Grogan. In truth I don't think I got into football until I was about 8.
jimmy10 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I was in 3rd grade, so probably playing with Transformers.

atlbillsfan1975 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I was 10. I loved the Bills and was hanging around the facility at times due to family ties w the team. I got to meet Kelly at training camp. Pretty cool stuff.
BaaadThingsMan Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I celebrated my 14th summer that year by partying every night with "the butcher" , a semi celebrity of sorts, as a Bisons and Sabres employee who I used to get hockey sticks from as a kid. We got !@#$ed up and smashed a glass table the day Kelly signed and I ended my summer getting kicked out of my house for having girls there overnight. Great summer!
Mango Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I was five and was urinating on a G.I. Joe USS Flag aircraft carrier toy while swinging from a rope tied to a ceiling beam in neighbor's garage. I want this to be true so badly!
