he got himself into that regime. no one...not his "mother," his highschool coach, his college program, the bills, rex ryan, anyone else...no one but MARCEL DAREUS is responsible for getting into that situation and it's on HIM to meet the requirements of the situation he put himself in. I'm sorry, but he gets no pity or understanding from me. he's a child.

didnt say he should not be expected to comply, simply that it is not " easy to attend a scheduled test"

It is an absurd program..but these idiots agreed to it cause they can't live without a paycheck for 6 weeks.

Where do people get this BS? Nothng regarding pot " proven helpful to athletes that give their bodies and suffer from chronic pain."

I'll,say it again weed is aganst federal law period. It is a schedule 1 drug. So to the point that it's "legal in some states". Doesn't mean squat.

This is coming from somene who understands medicinal values of pot. Not just THC.

If you have links to support your "proven" claims. By all means post them.

Its a sham that its a schedule 1 narcotic which by definition means it has no medicinal value. Yet meth and cocaine are schedule 2 which are incredibly dangerous and addictive and the use of them can cause irreversible harm and death. The Federal government still sends medical marijuana to 3 people every single month for medicinal purposes. The Federal government holds medical patents on the use of cannabis for medical reasons. The Federal government discovered it attacked cancer cells under Gerald Fords administration.

This nonsense that its a CSA 1 controlled substance is as false as it comes. It not only has medicinal applications, been proven in countless studies and research world wide, but also been proven to be acknowledged by the US Federal Govt in a multitude of documents, patents, programs, etc.

The ONLY reason its still a CSA1 scheduled drug is because of special interest groups holding it down as long as they can because of Billions of dollars at risks to those groups.

The NFL should no longer ban the use of it period because athletes both prefer and are safer utilizing cannabis then harmful prescription medications. It should be the choice of the athlete as it is not a performance enhancer on the field. The NFL can still enforce penalties or suspensions to those who get into legal trouble through the use of cannabis all they want, meaning they illegally acquired it or did something stupid while using it like drive and get in a car accident...no different than how they enforce incidents related to alcohol.

All that being said, its still not allowed by the NFL and athletes need to abide by what is required of them and what the current rules are. Even if the rule is absolutely stupid, out dated, and factually wrong...its still the rule. Just like its STUPID they can't celebrate in the end zone without a penalty, its still the rule and they have to abide by such rules until they are changed. So if Marcell did something stupid in regards to cannabis, then shame on him, not the NFL. But the NFL still NEEDS to change their policy and the players want the change.

Well said. The "rules" argument doesn't work either, the forward pass used to be illegal too. It's time for a real, open thought on the issue.

Except that rules don't typically get changed mid-season, especially not rules regarding the use of banned substances.

I agree that it's silly; that doesn't mean he should be doing it.

Exactly, which is why I said even though the rule SHOULD change, its not a shame on the NFL situation, its a shame on Marcell because until the rules change, he must abide by them like all the other rules...

That being said, the NFL needs to change this rule around cannabis because its outdated, doesn't give a player a competitive advantage, and is safer for pain management and recreational use than the other legal alternatives like harmful and addictive pain meds and alcohol for recreational uses.

Nope not good. Not good at all. YELP may have a better one. Lol.

Think controlled clinical trials. With a large sample size. And controlled is something researchers cannot even start. Since weed is schedule 1 with no medicinal value as currently viewed. They cannot even grow controlled samples. Much less controlled study's on patients.

I am not against this at all. Far from it. But understand state law is trumped by federal law. The current potus being among the biggest hypocrite

Of them all.

As for the point of the govt. knowing about pots benefits in cancers, and a huge list of diseases not just "pain" well thank big pharma for squashing that one. They don't call it lobbying for nothing either above or below the table. With no end in sight.

Whatever bozo wins in November as potus, will certainly not make any policy changes at the fed level. Or anyone on the horizon for that matter. hell in California awhile back people were happy the potus backed off on massive raids, etc.

non prohibition states have sick people flocking to them. However any serious research in regards to medicinal value in those states is almost zero. Becuase no one can or will fund the research. One guy in SF is doing some work. he was one of the original HIV doctors. His work is fairly limited. but patients can get what they need. Phoenix tears comes to mind. People can get them anywhere now if one knows how it works.

The Only place on earth i am aware of taking this cancer medicinal aspect very seriously is the London cancer institute. IN defience of what anyone else thinks.

We're still in preseason and they changed a rule when the Ray Rice video came out. The NFL is not the law of the land, it's a private organization with a set of rules. They can buck tradition and change rules at their discretion.

The hidden nugget in the last ruling is that cannibals can be studied beyond the University of Mississippi. Those studies will help eventually reclassify its status.

While gaining traction in parts of Africa, I still think much of the science is out on the benefits of eating human flesh. Any increase in sexual performance as a result of ingesting albinos is purely coincidental in my experience. I think we're a long way from broader acceptance in this country. Even in miss-uh-sippuh.

But guys...it's illegal! That's enough proof to show that it's evil and should remain criminalized for all of eternity!!!

#Bills GM Doug Whaley on Dareus: 'We will not give up on a family member.' @VicCarucci: http://bit.ly/2bySVmj

A "family member" ? Oh for cripe's sake - if Dareus was a dime-a-dozen player he would be cut faster than you could say "Don't let the door hit you in the ass, fam."

Family member my butt.

Posted

You do realize these are not scheduled correct?

You trying reporting your where abouts every single day all day long!! And lets not forget never let your phone go dead, and never ever be out of touch for more than 4 hours at a time. Dude , Viagra lasts for 4 hours, just saying

I'm not sure thats accurate because ESPN said they are giving these guys 30 days notice because they don't want to catch them for pot. So if thats true he's real dumb.

Nothing new about the concept. There are sons and then there are distant cousins. It's all "relative" regarding how close a family member is. I'm filing this under NSS.

should we really go down that path?

lets just B word about Dareus and how he kinda screwed his teammates Coaches the Organization and the Fans. Can we please?

The fact that pot was lumped into the schedule 1s like heroin to get rid of the mexicans, and LSD to tamp down the free thinkers, Does not make it right.

We can each make our choices in regard to the law, no matter how wrong that law may be.

Like i always say, I will do whatever I want to, but I need to weigh the consequences of my actions. I always say that

Good post. Through and through.

I do not care if people smoke or ingest in the safety of their own homes, i really don't.

If My Mom could have gotten medical Pot , i would have supported that during her Cancers.

But my work as many others here does not allow it. And i want keep my job.

The same NFL that was known for opening the dispensary for players to stay on the field for decades. and likely still does.

good times.

Most major pharmaceutical companies have or have had projects looking at cannabinoids for treatment of pain. I actually worked on a few. Here is a nice review for you to read:

......Clinical studies largely affirm that neuropathic pain patients derive benefits from cannabinoid treatment. Subjective (i.e. rating scales) and objective (i.e. stimulus-evoked) measures of pain and quality of life are considered. Finally, limitations of cannabinoid pharmacotherapies are discussed together with directions for future research......

Is this on Whaley or Overdorf?

Did Whaley pressure Overdorf to get a "deal done at all costs"???

Right now, it's on Pegs. He's the one who continues to keep Ralph's trash employed.
