YoloinOhio Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 PFF says yes (if he stays healthy) I agree https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-daily-focus-jets-darrelle-revis-still-an-elite-nfl-cb/?utm_content=buffera0da0&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=nfl
boyst Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Before even reading it I can say what he has lost in ability he gained I experience. The guy flat out knows football.
H2o Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) He will be a good FS for a few years when he can no longer play CB. I do believe he is on the decline though. Edited August 16, 2016 by H2o
Mr. WEO Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Elite in the amount of money he has extracted from so many teams. Incomparable.
Nanker Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 He's not elite when attempting to cover Sammy. That said, not too many WRs can get Revis to wring the sweat out of his own jock during a game like Sammy can. http://youtu.be/S1iEe7F3Keo
Blokestradamus Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Pretty sure that America struggles with the concept of elite. It's a serious problem when you've got PFT Commenter and his 'Is Joe Flacco elite?' schtick muddying the waters. I don't know that Revis is elite any longer. He most definitely has been and he's still likely very good.
Captain Hindsight Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 He's not untouchable. But I still rather play against Dee Milner
C.Biscuit97 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 No...very good but not elite Agreed. He got beat more than I ever remember last year. He's getting old. It happens to the best of them.
YoloinOhio Posted September 10, 2016 Author Posted September 10, 2016 The end of an island? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000697528/article/is-revis-island-nearing-its-end-in-new-york?campaign=tw-nf-sf35519507-sf35519507
aristocrat Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 he will go the safety route and be a hof safety
Augie Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 He will be a good FS for a few years when he can no longer play CB. I do believe he is on the decline though. Good point. And he'll be sure to earn top dollar at FS too. The guy is a mercenary, but I can't blame him for that. He'd never be my favorite guy. I'm sure he can live with that.
Jamie Nails Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Sammy is going to destroy him again in 6 days.
billsfan_34 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Nope- hes lost a step, elite receivers turn him inside out- see Sammy Watkins
GunnerBill Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I think he is still a top 5 NFL corner. He is not "Revis island" anymore.... but I think he is still clinging on to elite status.
Maury Ballstein Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Nope. Good but not elite anymore. Too many paydays will slow that hunger down a bit.
YoloinOhio Posted September 10, 2016 Author Posted September 10, 2016 He had elite stats last year as I recall but struggled with some of the more explosive WRs. He did have a hammy issue I think - not sure if that slowed him down. I don't think buster skrine is a good outside corner and he's going to be on the other side of Revis. skrine is better suited to the slot.
CountryCletus Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I think that QBs will start to challenge him this year. He's aging and must of his success has resulted in QBs not throwing his way
bacarri and coke Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I would need to watch the all 22s of him and I have not.I think a lot of the he is not elite stuff here is because as Bills fans our brains have an image imprinted on them of Sammy making him look like a key stone cop.Is that an anomaly?Anyone here watch the all 22?
