VinceFerragamo Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Patriots camp: Sloppy day vs. Saints includes eight drops, key injuries http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/patriots/the_blitz/2016/08/patriots_camp_sloppy_day_vs_saints_includes_eight_drops_key Practice observations: This was the Patriots’ worst practice of camp from an execution standpoint, and the pair of injuries to significant players didn’t help the mood. The eight drops during team drills were the most glaring problem, and Josh McDaniels didn’t take kindly to it during an offensive meeting at the end of the workout. Tom Brady was 11 of 19 with an interception, and he was burnt by two drops. His interception went to defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins on a screen pass, so that was a bizarre breakdown. Jimmy Garoppolo was 10 of 22 with an interception, but he was sabotaged by six drops. We’ve drawn attention to Garoppolo’s dip since Friday, but we also can’t stress enough that he hasn’t gotten a lot of help along the way, whether it’s because of drops, poor line play or whatever. Garoppolo’s interception occurred because he led Aaron Dobson too far to the inside, and Da’Vante Harris picked it off. Dobson tried to rip the ball from Harris’ hands after, but to no avail. Garoppolo dipped into his early-camp magic with a touchdown pass to Chris Harper in 11-on-11s. The pass rush closed the pocket, so Garoppolo stepped up, kept his eyes downfield and delivered a confident strike to Harper for the score. Nicely done. Brady led off the first four periods of team drills, and Garoppolo led off the final two. The first QB used the starting line, while the second QB worked with the backups. With the exception of a few plays, both played against the Saints’ starting defense. The culprits of the drops were Rob Gronkowski (two), Chris Hogan (two), Aaron Dobson (one), James White (one), Chris Harper (one) and Brandon Bolden (one). Bolden’s drop occurred in the end zone and one play after he nearly dropped another ball. Gronk now has a team-high seven drops in 11 practices. Brady completed passes to James White (three), Chris Hogan (two), Brandon Bolden (two), Tyler Gaffney (one), James Develin (one), Rob Gronkowski (one) and Martellus Bennett (one). Garoppolo completed passes to Aaron Dobson (two), LeGarrette Blount (two), Chris Harper (two), Gronkowski (one), Hogan (one), White (one) and Bolden (one). Jacoby Brissett was 4 of 7 during the final period of practice. He completed balls to AJ Derby (two), Devin Lucien (one) and Steven Scheu (one). His first pass should’ve been picked by Dillon Lee. Brandin Cooks got the better of Malcolm Butler for most of the day. They lined up almost exclusively during practice in 1-on-1s and team drills. Edelman juked Vonn Bell out of his shorts on a double move in 1-on-1s a couple minutes before he left the field with the injury.......
VinceFerragamo Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 That's why you practice. excuses, excuses. lol if the most bestest, smartest, most disciplined pseudo godly team is showing signs of efing up already, its going to be a long season for them. Even Brady was screwing up.

Even Brady was screwing up. Well, the QB situation is what it is. How good is Garoppolo? We'll see. The OL line problem is what bothers me. Can they improve over last year? They better, because if they don't they won't have, for them, what's considered a successful season.

The OL is good enough to win the division but not the super bowl (I assume you have a similar take). Maybe you guys could be friends if you realized Edelman is not a good sport.
The Frankish Reich Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 In other words, the Bills just won practice!

Beef Jerky Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 excuses, excuses. lol if the most bestest, smartest, most disciplined pseudo godly team is showing signs of efing up already, its going to be a long season for them. VinceFerragamo Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 Already? It's TC... When they had a bad day last TC did you also think the same? This isn't training camp. It's starters plaYing against other teams. This is live without the crowd. This is where you execute. Brees looked good, the Pats didn't.
Doc Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Hogan dropped passes?? I'm shocked. Must be those darn wrist ligaments again.
