These are the man's clothing for you. Now, if you are the desk jockey type... Spend the weekend in The Hamptons eating cheese and drinking wine w/Miff & Buffy, taking in the local farmer's market... You know who you are... By all means go for the Bermudas and over the calf black socks, street shoes! ;-) I mentioned the M-1965 jungle shorts, etc... No one needs that many pockets. Men should only carry three things: Keys. Wallet. and utility knife. Phones are optional. This. Gun is an option as well. Actually you have. Now the ones with the silly little useless pockets here and there are over the top. Maybe that is what people rage against? Keep it form function. The SUV of clothing. When one is working, no need for the flapping hem to get in way. They would wear spats in the old days. Heck, even fancy dancy civilians would wear spats in the old days when roads weren't paved. Safety, form and function for people who work. One exception to blousing... When you are fording water... Best to keep them unbloused so as not to hold water. Yesterday, I was just changing the contactor on my A/C unit... I had cargo shorts on. They worked perfect for holding the screwdriver, wire cutters and everthing else I needed. How would that work in a gay pair of Bermudas? I am working man, not a dork... Okay, maybe a working dork. ;-) Same with doing yard work, etc... I can put the pair of pruners in a pocket, etc... Form, function... Simply what I get used to at work too. I am a wage grade (hourly, not salary) employee... I work for a living. Clothing like this is practical... Why I find myself wearing BDUs, fatigues at work (has to be long pants at work per safety manual EM385-1-1 for field work) etc... Anything is simply goofy and not practical, unless I am going out to a wedding on a yacht or something... Getting dressed up. I work for a living... Cargo shorts/pants... Even zip offs (gasp) are practical. I live in shorts year around, I jump in car and go to work @ all hours... I must wear long pants @ work, I can always zip the legs on. BTW... The North Face make very nice field/techincal convertible trousers. I simply am not walking around a farmer's market on Saturday... Just arguing on internet when not fixing my A/C, doing yard work, or locking a boat/maintenance @ work. I am out there doing sh*t too. Real men do sh*t. Cargo all the way! :-) jist looked look his left ankle (your right when looking) looked mad crooked. I've bloused mine for a while when I was a DI. His ankles just looked funny to me. Didn't notice. Sailors, I like the look of the classic spats... Now the bell bottoms, God awfu! But there had to be some practical reason for the bell bottom? Any Navy sailors out there? The pockets are either for show, so you're wearing them like faux epaulets like a chick or they are full of useless things and you might as wear a purse...like a chick. Man up men.
