BuffaloBill Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Will Striker be a stud or dud? He is gaining some early momentum in camp.
YoloinOhio Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) I think he will be used strategically by Rex, and I think he will be a stud. Some guys are just born to ball. Edited August 4, 2016 by YoloinOhio
Momma Pecoraro Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I think he will be used strategically by Rex, and I think he will be a stud. Some guys are just born to ball. Agree. Neither Striker nor Ron Jeremy may look the part but they are straight up ballers.

Over 29 years of fanhood Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Will Striker be a stud or dud? He is gaining some early momentum in camp. How easily blocked by a TE is he and what happens when they check the play to run at him.... Those will predict his fate
Ohiostyle Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 The little I know about him, he seems easy to root for. Good name for a LB to.
White Linen Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 He's small for an LB but there's examples that players his size have had very nice NFL careers. Vilma, Cato, Brackett and Sims come to mind. Football is a game where desire can sometimes outweigh physical attributes - there's no doubt this guy is a motivated player with a big chip.
bacarri and coke Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Ever just get a feeling about a player?I have that with striker...STUD!!
Blokestradamus Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Never felt that I was looking at a great NFL prospect with Striker. I hope he can carve out a niche somewhere in certain packages and on special teams. The game needs good guys to succeed and he seems to be one. I just feel that objectivity with him is something the fan base struggles with, as with James Wilder.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Will Striker be a stud or dud? He is gaining some early momentum in camp. He was a stud in college and if used to his talents he should excel.
eball Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 How easily blocked by a TE is he and what happens when they check the play to run at him.... Those will predict his fate Yup. He's a great story but offensive coaches in the NFL will attack a weakness mercilessly. If Striker can't fend off blocks and stop the run, he's just a one-trick pony and a liability on the field. Hoping for the best for him, but not expecting much.
YoloinOhio Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) Astro posted this in another thread. Good pre-draft read on Striker. http://www.thehuddlereport.com/archive/2016profiles/Eric.Striker.htm Edited August 4, 2016 by YoloinOhio
8-8 Forever? Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Never felt that I was looking at a great NFL prospect with Striker. I just feel that objectivity with him is something the fan base struggles with, as with James Wilder. with sentiments like this, don't complain about 8-8 and no playoffs. with all due respect, we need nfl calibre players, not feel good stories about good guys who get a break with a team with crappy LBs .. on the flip side, with Rex's crazy deception, scheme defense, if you are smart, learn the system fast and do what you are told when you are told, anyone can hide their faults as they are just cogs in a wheel
YoloinOhio Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Carucci must read TSW http://bills.buffalonews.com/2016/08/03/undrafted-striker-gets-show-can-bills-starter/?utm_campaign=puma&utm_medium=social&utm_source=Twitter#link_time=1470314118
eball Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I'll say this -- I love this kid's attitude, personality, and charisma.
K-9 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Feel good story that is impossible not to root for. But he faces long odds. I need to see him in person going up against OLmen a hundred pounds heavier and that much stronger. It is hard to imagine him being any kind of force on the edge in defending the running game. Situational rusher? Perhaps. I think an inside LB role might better suit him if we can keep him clean to make plays. And I hope he can play special teams. GO BILLS!!!

His value is going to be as an edge rusher, and he can also cover.
K-9 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) Fish out of water. His value is going to be as an edge rusher, and he can also cover. So, situational pass rusher then. At this point, I can't say he is an every down player. He can get off the ball and rush, but I heard he was easily getting shoved aside defending the run at practice. I'd like to see for myself though. I disagree he would be a fish out of water inside partly because he CAN cover. GO BILLS!!! Edited August 4, 2016 by K-9
