Gugny Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Stevie Johnson played five solid years for the Buffalo Bills and is the only receiver in the history of the franchise to have back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons. Andre, Moulds, Evans, Lofton could never do it and they all had better QBs. I think SJ13 should be seriously considered for the Wall of Fame. Thoughts?
Astrobot Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I think it may have been 3 straight seasons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5zFbLzEdzM I vote yes to Stevie being on the Wall.
PromoTheRobot Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I like Stevie but no. He has not come close to the threshold of other players on the Wall of Fame. Fred Jackson? Definitely.
Mark80 Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 (edited) There should be a minimum requirement of at least 1 playoff game played as a Bill to be considered for the Wall. Sorry Stevie and sorry Fred. Edited August 2, 2016 by Mark80

While I thought he was good at times, and managed 3 consecutive 1000 yard seasons, I think he was slightly above average as a player, at best. he proved that by bombing out after leaving the Bills. 1. He never came through in the clutch to win games 2. He was not a true leader 3. He wasn't a true pro bowl caliber player at any point in his career. If it's now "The wall of average players" then yes... add him.

H2o Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 What did Stevie do to deserve such an honor? Think about the GREAT players who aren't on the wall and you want to put Stevie Johnson up there? No.
BarleyNY Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Nope. 3 straight 1k seasons is certainly noteworthy, but he was only here 5 seasons total. A longer career here putting up those kinds of numbers would've probably done it though.
NickelCity Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I was and remain a Stevie fan. He should not be on the Wall, however.
BuffaloWings Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 There should be a minimum requirement of at least 1 playoff game played as a Bill to be considered for the Wall. Sorry Stevie and sorry Fred. And a maximum of 1 inexplicable dropped pass when you're wide open.

A 1000 yard season for a WR in the modern day NFL with the rules that favor the offense in 16 game seasons is hardly any measure of excellence. Wall worthy? That's a resounding NO!
KD in CA Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Now this is how you troll the board. Job well done.
